Result from a compression test on a 2.2L
LosDiosDeVerde86 replied to alia176's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXdid you try running an induction service? I had a lean miss a few weeks ago that was caused by too much carbon build up. Induction fixed that right up.

does anybody know anything about these tires
LosDiosDeVerde86 replied to a post in a topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXRelative to what the manufacturers grades are. Remember, they grade their own tires so they can say how good or poor a tire is. But i'm only talking about treadwear. Temperature rating and speed rating are all on legally uniform grading scales.

LosDiosDeVerde86 replied to a post in a topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXRule #1, never buy tires online. Too many things could be wrong. 2, The ratings that are on the dealership tags on the tires are entirely based on their own ratings scale. ie, a Goodyear Treadwear 200 may be better than a Michelin Treadwear rating of 600.

CR-V vs. SUBARU AWD
My girlfriend, Sarah, has a 2002 CR-v and i have a 96 Legacy LS. My legacy runs wonderfully in the snow and i havn't had any problems getting anywhere with it. Her CR-v has a hard time getting up hills in the snow, feels hard to control because of the height and width, and actually spins the front tires at stoplights no matter how soft you go on the gas. Bottom line, Honda needs to take a lesson from Subaru.

Chirping noise
my legacy, every once in a while, will chirp when i let off the gas after really romping on it. it'll go for months without doing it, then it'll do it for a couple of weeks, then not for months again. any ideas?

Squeeky Tail Gate.....
LosDiosDeVerde86 replied to Sweet82's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI would make sure all of the panels are screwed in tightly and that there's no panels rubbing against eachother. Also maybe try spraying the hinges with PB Blaster. I've got a bump-sensitive squeek in the front of my car and it's the front bumper cover rubbing against the left front fender. might want to check that out in the rear. the bumper covers are really only held on by plastic screw-clips.

Replaceable CV boots (without removing axle??)
i, personally, wouldn't want to put on a cheap, screw on, cv boot. the axle on my legacy isn't that hard to take out anyway
