  1. Ok fella's, need some more help. As I mentioned before #4 has 0# of compression, all others have 126#. A forum member told me to perform a cylinder leak down test on #4 hole. I did it tonight. According to what I understand at TDC with air applied I should either hear air at tailpipe or air intake if valves are wasted or crankcase (oil dip stick) if piston/rings are wasted. Well when I did the test I didn't hear a thing anywhere, no air. As a matter of fact it appeared to be holding pressure in the hole. Now I'm confused, not sure what to try next. Is there a certain amount of air pressure I should be using?
  2. Ok thanks fella's. Sorry about creating a new thread, I'll keep it to one next time. Sounds easier to just fix the ej22t as Im not sure my capabilites of doing a complete block split are adequate. Not scared to do it but might get in over my head....pete
  3. Has anyone taken a good EJ22 and used EJ22T turbo and other components off the EJ22T without many problem? Is it even possible? I have a EJ22T with #4 cylinder dead but I have a EJ22 that we took out of my sons car that is in great shape. Just wondering if its even possible before I tear into the EJ22T. Thanks fella's.....
  4. Ok fella's. I bought the car. Took the dudes word for it that both cylinders on drivers side had zero compression. Got to the timing belt, re timed it and now I have 3 cylinders with 126# and one with zero. Cylinders 1,2&3 have 126# and cylinder 4 has zero. What next, the head?
  5. What do you mean about premium gas prices? This car needs premium? What octane is recommended?
  6. Guys, I have a 94 EJ22T Wagon I'm looking at buying. It apparently had lost a timing belt and the valves on drivers side appear to be bent. Timing belt looks brand new like it was just changed. The cars runs but cylinders on drivers side are dead. 110# comp on pass side. It comes with heads. The cars runs but its pretty rough as expected. When it runs there is no knocking, runs quite. Im thinking its a matter of putting new heads on but would like feedback from you guys as se if you concur. Thanks fella's....
  7. 1977 Wagon EA71 4 SP/4WD 129,000 100 bucks....she was in a field for 20 years and she shows it. It has taken me about a year to get her running. Had to totally go through the fuel system and have rebuilt the motor. Added a Weber carb, she runs great now! Just need to work on the body inside and out. I love her! before... after...
  8. Are you sure your getting fuel? Did you check your fuel line right at the carb?
  9. 86 GL EA82 4X4 Wagon...haven't done a lot but what I have done is listed below... * Weber DGEV EC carb * 2 1/2" exhaust from the header all the way to the back with a Cherry Bomb on the end That's it so far....I drive 75% hwy/25% in town and I'm getting 30MPG... I also have a 77 Leone 4X4 Wagon, no mods to it yet....
  10. Wow, mine came out of field too only mine sat there for 20 years and rotted...took a lot to get her going...but I love it!
  11. I would be cool with a good used one or a new one. What do you have? How much for them? Mine appears to be weak. It's pumping but not even enough to fill the clear fuel filter just before the carb.
  12. Carb, sorry should have mentioned that...pete
