96 2.2 heads 01 2.2 short block?
Currently have a 96 2.2 Impreza with poor bottom end and a 01 2.2 also from Impreza with poor heads. The timing belt let go. Got it for free. Can I replace my 96 short block with the 01 short block? Using the 96 heads, intake, exhaust and everything that goes with it.

97 outback limited 15 to 16 mpg
Car was from Colorado, bought in Minnesota. Sat for 7 months. Motor was swapped from another 97 OB a month ago. It sat because old motor over heated. O2 sensor was from the other OB. Brakes do not appear to be dragging.

97 outback limited 15 to 16 mpg
Any clues? Has had front of sensor replaced by previous owner wen they swapped in a replacement motor. I do not know what brand. Had an o2 sensor code once in the last month. Cleared it and it didn't come back. That was about 5 days after the motor swap.

01 outback radio and wiper problem
I've gone through wiring and ground diagrams and they don't seem to share anything.

97 outback engine vibration
Did that to rule out a problem with CV axles causing vibration. But that is typically at idle while in gear. This is only bad at around 2k in neutral or park.

01 outback radio and wiper problem
Occasionally (yet seeming to be more frequently) there will be a 30 second to a minute delay from starting the car to when radio and wipers will get power. I hear a relay like click under left side of dash and then they both work. Any ideas?

No sound, pulley seemed ok.

97 outback engine vibration
Don't think so, it did it with the car up in the air too with suspension unloaded.

97 outback engine vibration
In neutral or park I get a nasty vibration at 2k rpm. Starts at 1500 ish and lessens around 3k but is still there. Felt in steering wheel and seat. In gear it accelerates just fine with only a slight hint at a vibration that I would think nothing of if it weren't for the vibration thst I spoke of earlier. Any ideas?

97 outback limited doors won't unlock with key
Haven't tried the hatch but it doesn't work in either door. I've had my Impreza locks sieze up before and this feels really different. They don't feel like they want to move at all.

97 outback limited doors won't unlock with key
Thanks guys. I just picked this up Monday. Only came with one key. No keyfob. Talked to the dealer and according to Vin it did not have keyless. But it does have a non functional alarm that must've had some kind of aftermarket keyless. I'm also wondering if the car may have had ignition replaced and this key just doesn't work in the doors. I think I will try to have a key cut from the Vin and try that. Next steps will be to pull the door apart.

They will lock and unlock with switch inside car but key will not turn in the door at all. Any suggestions? I sprayed some lubricant in the keyhole today.

01 Outback transmission replacement
Thanks, where did you get that number? I haven't been able to check my car out yet. The transmission I have found has this code: TZ1A4ZCDBA A Google search says that is from a 02. Will that work with my 01?

All good advice, thanks. Once upon a time I had stumbled across a thread with compatible transmission part numbers. I can't seem to find it again.

01 Outback transmission replacement
Have a 01 Outback wagon with a crap autmatic transmission. Going to replace it with a used one. One I can find for a good price is tagged with last 4 digits cdba from either a 01 GT or OB. I'm unsure what's in mine now other than it is a 4.44. I think this should work but would like confirmation before I pull the trigger on it. Thanks in advance for the help.

Cheap RWD car
70's ford capri. not the merc. version of a mustang but a true capri. an aqunatances 74 mk II capri is one hell of a rally car. very nuetral handling and easy to steer with just the throttle. it is a very well balanced car.
