2008 impreza gas gauge no worky cel on
Bucky92 replied to soobtank's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXSince I have had my 08 Imp for almost a year ...and 22K miles..I actually have a good idea on some of their quirks also...the fuel gauge will sometimes stick for a couple minutes..when its close to full...but it will drop...Also..if you add gas while the car is running ...it will not read the fuel level until you shut the car off and turn it back on. This is all common...what the OP is stating is not. A better place to find out info on the 08 Imps is over on Nasioc. And what Shawn says is right on...( BTW I have tinted windows..but it was done by a high end place...and has its own seperate warranty...was also recommended by my dealer) And dont let being a girl be an excuse...learn something...I happen to be a girl too ..and I have learned how to do my own maintanence..I have been doing minor repairs for many years... I have owned in upwards of 40 + cars..from everything..get a manual..read about your car..open the owners manual..thats what it is for

EA81 Head gaskets..again?
They arent dirty...its 236K miles of wear.. I will either get them professionally done later..or I will look for a pristine set..right now I just want my coupe running again..its been down for far to long. I want to try out my Weber that Jerry worked so hard on... Psyko was it using for awhile until his was finished and installed cause his hitcrappy wasnt working at all. Jerry.. I have run nothing but Castrol GTX in everything forever it seems ( Except my 08..It runs Kendall..what the dealer puts in) I also have a purolator filter to run for a short time to get the gunk out..then an OEM one after. I miss running my little coupe Oh Steve...making a crock of Chili...and I dont think John will mind some swaybar goodness

EA81 Head gaskets..again?
Yay!! Board is back up..felt lost with it gone...could have used it yesterday too..but I figured it out. Anyway..alittle update on this drawn out project...Took a break from it for a bit..Got to a point where I couldnt go any further without some hands on help..and parts. I loaned out my Weber and intake to a friend who was in dire need of a working carb...It came back the other day..so yesterday I added some new stuff to it..IE OEM T stat and PCV valve. I also attached it to the block...and whoever said that EGR tube is going to be fun...welll...never under-estimate a girl with a hammer on a mission:grin:. Next Sat ( the 20th) Backwoodsboy and Darlingchip...and Hatchsub and possibly his friend Joe are coming over and we will be dropping the motor back in and ..hopefully ..have it running. Anyway..it sure is a pretty sight:

Tiny Square on Rear Bumper
Bucky92 replied to MissRis's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYou know..it probably would..it just sits inside of the spare. I am very fond of it also.... I keep my Imp Immaculate cant its nice not having that stuff bouncing around and rattling.

Tiny Square on Rear Bumper
Bucky92 replied to MissRis's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXNO you are all wrong...the 08 Impreza is 100% Japan made..this is an offset square on the rear bumper..to the drivers side...a hook was threaded into the hole behind it..they then place the hook upon remove in the molded form in the back of the car with the spare tire and equipment. I have owned mine for nearly a year and have over 20K on it so I think I may know something about them...If I have to I will pull out my window sticker to prove where they are made at.

Tiny Square on Rear Bumper
Bucky92 replied to MissRis's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThat was where the tie down was during shipment from Japan. The hook is in your trunk where the spare tire is. I believe it is mentioned in the owners manual.

91 Loyale Just died.. no spark...
Probably broke a timing belt...no biggy..non-interference motor.. check to make sure your ditsy is spinning..if not..you broke the drivers side belt( common). Its an easy to do repair..lots of write up on it on this board.Just search EA82 timing belts.

91 loyale is it worth $2500.00?
Being a fan of the Loyales and other EA82 wagons...I would still have to say No Way!!! That thing better be in showroom condition and have next to no miles on it. I agree with the rest..for $2500 you can get a nice Lego or Impreza. Granted..I am in the market for an 87-89 EA82 wagon ( I want the D/R tranny) and have been suprised how the prices have gone up..but they are adveraging $1000-$1800 for a really nice one.

Sirius Radio Question
Bucky92 replied to MissRis's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI have mine tucked into the corner of my windshield on my 08.. I also had the extra aux port installed and I added extra power outlets..then I ran the cords between under around trim etc for the antenna.. since it sound like you have the portable unit similar to me..you use the aux setting on the stereo..the prewire is only if you are having the factory installed unit put in. I can get you a pic of my set up if you like. I bought my 08 back in early Nov..installed my Sirius within 24 hours cant live without it

08 Imp AT tranny Rant
Bucky92 replied to Bucky92's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXLMAO.. a Ford AT is what turned me against ATs. I was just seriously disappointed..but like I said..I could very well be spoiled with driving my 5 spd ..And what a feeling..bouncing off that rev limiter..LOVE IT! ( and on a side note..I have owned over 40 different cars of all makes and models... I LOVE my Subarus..only owned 10 of them so far)

08 Imp AT tranny Rant
Bucky92 replied to Bucky92's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXJerry.. How are you likeing your 08? Did you get the 5 door or the sedan? . I ADORE mine..and have no regrets on it..I have put 20K on it in less then a year and its been flawless. I am just disappointed that ...you would think by now that they could make a somewhat decent AT. Maybe its because I am so used to manuals..instant response..total control..Plus the improvement over gas mileage. I just dont seem to remember the AT in my friends 2006 T Lego being that bad. For Now..I am still adament about it...ATs suck ( IMO )..and I will only have 5 spds

Holy Grail for Coupe owners.
Isnt drinking a given????:-p:clap: celebratory drink for every accomplishment...remove a lug nut...take a drink..remove another one..another drink . To do the paint right.. I am going to have to remove all the trim and glass. the trim is scarey..dont want to booger it up. Once I have it back together and running again..I am going to get estimates locally. ( plus we still need to talk with Tim..but you guys have enough on your plate right now) But I am hoping to maybe do it in the Spring..before the Import Car Show in May...all depends of finances. I cant stop looking at them..Trying to find the safest place for them...maybe get a saftey deposit box?? Would that be overkill?

Mary..mine ran really good ..drove it 600 r/t without issues ...all this not knowing the HGs were going. I should have something tomorrow ..according to my source..extremely rare for it..and the last pair in the country.Brand new. I need to get my rear in gear and button him back up ..I have done some work since that pic was taken ..to the nose..and I miss driving it.
