Oddcomp, I have no Idea what you said, but did see the word "Hodaka" . I recently acquired a "Combat Wobat 125cc". That is an old dirt bike for those who have never heard of them before. I am going to race in "vintage motocross races" with it.

I don't know what my injection system is called, but it is an 85 so should be the earlier F.I. Is there an advantage to the newer system?

10 ! Tell us about the suspension ! I am building a "Tube Frame Manx" with longer travel suspension, about 14" front and back with bipass shocks. My Manx has a built type 1 trans (mistake) and 1914 vw power. I dreamed about your engine many times going to leading edge performance many times, looking for the best prices for the japanese EJ20 turbo etc. I think the engine management ( aftermarket ecu) price is what stopped me. Tell us more info!

My car doesn't have power steering. I like the all electric fan idea. That sure would make working on or pulling the engine easier! Oh by the way, this car is just for fun, not serious racing. That's why I might keep the A.C. I am more concerned with ease of repairs, making room to modify the engine, than weight.

Bmw 's 1.5 liter turbo "Formula One" engine from the late 80's to early 90's put out 1200Hp !! So our 20% larger 1.8's should be able to get 1728Hp. Maybe that's not a good example, so I made a mathmatical adjustment 178.8hp. Leading Edge Performance a local dune buggy engine builder gets 550 reliable hp from their turbo EJ 2.5's. I would think 250-300 should be obtainable with stock internals, that is to the crankshaft so probably 200 to the rear wheels. But I am no expert.

I want to keep AC because it gets really hot and dusty here in the southern california desert (110 sometimes). How much does all the ac stuff weigh. Maybe you guys are right, but I hate getting "FN" hot!

I am going to pull motor and install clutch soon. I want to eliminate as much uneeded clutter, weight from my engine bay on an 85 rx sedan. I want to keep heating and air. does anyone have a picture of an engine or engine bay, that has been cleaned up. Thanks! <Shep> A.K.A. The "Wing Man"

How do you convert to rear wheel drive?

My 85 rx needs a clutch installed, I don't have a manual. Does the trans have to come out like most rear drive cars? I've worked on older bmws, toyotas clutches, but know Subaru does things different. Any tips or suggestions?

No automatic just standard 1985 rx stuff. I also have a 85 wagon h/l range with a carb. I embarrased my brothers by out climbing their dodge ram 4x4 and toyota 4 runner with the little wagon, they couldn't believe it !!!! Oh and as to jumping in Lake Elsinore I have driven to the back side of the lake many times, once to pull my brothers 4 runner out of the lake ! On the way back (towing him) I got a complete flat and still pulled him home on three wheels, about 2 miles ! I can only imagine what it could do with a welded rear end (lincoln locker).,

I styled it after the old Dodge Hemi Roadrunner (the one that's like 4' tall ). Would you guys please send me a large "Ultimate Subaru Club " sticker please ! I will put it on the side of the wing, so other car owners with a wing will want to join your club. I also installed a racing foot petal and shifter kit from "Pep Boys" you guys are gonna want one of these too! What are your guys experience with spinner hub caps, I kinda was thinking these would help accelleration ( when combined with the traction from the wing & faster shifts from the racing pedal and shifter kit ) cus the spinners will keep spinning after I stop, then I could install an electric clutch on them and engage it upon accelleration ! Buy the way do you guys have a club jacket or patch I could wear, and is there like a club picnic or something, my Mom and I would like to meet you guys.

I have what I believe to be an RX turbo 4 door, 1985. It has been sideswiped enough to not be feasable to repair to original condition, and has over 200k. I would like to use as a non street legal (fun only) rally car. What can be done to get most power, traction, best off road suspension (for big jumps etc..) I think I wiil get my compressor out and paint the car blue and the rims gold, maybe make a big aluminum wing for the back. Any advise will be greatly appreciated!!!
