  1. Ok here is a update, drove the girl home and boy she shimmys part of the radio/8-track fell off while I was driving it, knob or something, I'll post some pics later when it is not rainning, Everytime I shift it pulls to the left and the steering is sloppy. also when I was driving on the freeway I could only get it to about 55mph. It's home now but I was praying that it did not fall apart and it didn't, (thank God) Brad
  2. Ok just bought this brat 81' and it has no front bumper and just sold me ram bar to XSNRG, the only bumpers I have an 82' glf front bumper or a xt front bumper, is there anyway to bolt up one of these temporary till I get a new front end?? Thanks Brad
  3. Sweeeeeeeeeet that baby's mine, thanks for the tip, all I need now is dingle ball trim and a disco ball
  4. I was wondering who one that, I bid on it earlier but only to about 150$ Great deal and yes it looks good /Good score!!!
  5. I don't have any 8-tracks tapes, and really don't know where to buy them either, so if you don't steal it from me first, I may be able to part with it before I put a less popular cassett player in it.
  6. Brian, It is beat up but well worth 300.00,
  7. Yes I just bought it, and he lowed it to 300.00 Here was the link, http://portland.craigslist.org/car/65359996.html here is my post http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=33431
  8. I found this one local on the craigslist 300.smackers. Here is the jist, Person selling it is 15 yrs old does not know how to drive a stick, He got it from his neighbor that bought it from a wrecking yard back in 2003 and used it for a carryall truck. Some one broke a key off in the ignition so to fire this thing up a flat nose screwdriver works well, Someome put one of those aftermarket gt steering wheels in it which wouldn't be so bad except this one is cut like plane joystick (round on the bottom and sides but nothing on top) Or 2/3 of a steering wheel. It does make it real hard to drive. The car has a sun roof and the dual tranny that shifts fine, Nice studded tires and Crome wagon wheels with subaru center caps, a kind I have never seen. . The car has been sitting for awhile and smokes a bit, but drives nice. The problems with it All the Blinkers are shot (front and back) I have replacment fronts, so I will need replacement tail lights. It has no back seats or the braket, or seat belts, or roll bar , Or front bumber. And I just sold my ram bar too. It has the high top canopy but with no rear door Glass. The best part of the whole car, They stuck in a 8-track player here is the only pic I got so far. ps my wagon 82' is for sale now on the board
  9. I like the site but I just can't quite make out what they're saying, But really cool rides though..
  10. Yes If youre asking I could use some parts. What I need is the bolt and pin that holds the stick to the tranny, (sorry don't know the techie term for it) And my 80 brat came with a/c which is nice but the bearing is out, does any of these have a spare or useful a/c unit, (yet I have no clue how to exchange one if I had a spare)
  11. Cool That's a helpful page Now I know the ones I picked up in the junk yard are 15" Alloy Recessed Spoke
  12. My 82 wagon has 256K and the left head gasket was shot, I've never did a head gasket before, but it was really easy now it runs fine. If you have a spare 2K laying around you can buy somemore soobs... Or buy a used motor or a parts car with a good engine and just swap them, sell the other car with the bad motor and get your money back. Brad
  13. Not sure pulled them off of ebay 30mins ago here's the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6388&item=4536081569&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
  14. I thought for sure someone was looking for pics of different pugs to use for our soobs, and What car to look for in the wrecking yards. Hopefully we can fine pro's and cons for each model wheel So here goes: (1) pic is a 405 DL 1992 (2) pic ia a 505 sti 1982 (3) pic is a 505 stx 1987 (4) pic is a 1978 car (5) pic is a 505 Turbo 1986
  15. I've found good cars here on this board, but also check the local paper in your area or surrounding area, Old sub's are like dirty gold, Most people do not know what they have ahold of and give them up for cheap. You buy it. give it a bath, fix a few things and you have a car the is like the energizer bunny and a tank. It keeps going and going and for some, looks better with dents and battle scars. check out: http://seattle.craigslist.org/ Ebay is good but only if the car is local, don't want to bid on a car you don't have a way to get it. I sometimes find stuff in the nickel ads but rarely. I think for the money this board is the best place to go. I have found many great deals here (cars, parts and advice) And even though we all come from different backgrounds we all love these cars. Hope that helps a bit. Brad Oh and good luck
  16. Oooooo your buff, I can lift the engine out myself but not gracefuly, A lot of grunting and swearing is involved. and I have a cherry picker, with a load leveler, but I just go the stupid thing in there and putt everything back together, sat back at my amasment and now have to tear it apart again. That sucks (I have not been to one wcss yet, or at any meets to show off my rig or anything.) except once with the hatch patrol in the snow, yeah that kicked butt. But now my car is green and mean looking, and it has sat in the garage for a year and a half.
  17. Thanks that's what I'll do. I will wait thought untill after I move, I still have repairs on my other soob I need to attend to before I can move that one. Thanks again. Brad
  18. Yeah but I'm not the fastest mechanic on the block, I had the engine out for a year and the tranny out for abit too, I'm moving and was trying to get it finnished inless than a month and now the tranny must come out again,... My head just hurts thinking about it. Oh did I tell you I'm not to knowlegable on this stuff, ......But I sure am getting alot of practice.. Brad
  19. Thank you.....Oh my god...................................I can't believe I forgot that. No wonder why I cant shift. Now I really feel stupid. Thanks again Now I know what I have to do .........And will need to find the part. Brad
  20. Ok I have been out of it for awhile now, My problems started when I wasted my last tranny. I paid a guy (that used to be on the board but no longer) 100.00 to help me change my trans, I lacked the knowlege, we put it in with a new used trans , and a new clutch but kepted the old fly wheel, which was dammaged. Then I was able to drive it to Vancouver where I live now. There I pulled it into the garage and took out the engine. After replacing the fly wheel and breaking a bolt off in the thing. In the newer fly wheel (it is fixed now) It has taken over a year to put thee engine back in the hole. (lazy for the most part). Now that it is back in, it starts and runs for the most part fine. EXCEPT: my gas peddel feels real soft like I have no resistance. and I cannnot rev the car either. the idel stays at 2K rpm only. Did I forget something? did I do something wrong? Any Idea's? AND I am unable to shift it into any gear. without the grind it too you find it thing. I have the new clutch tighted almost all the way on the adjust. Why can't I shift this? Any help on either of these would be most helpful, Thanks. Brad:-\
  21. Thanks Russ I'll give you a call, archemitis it was on the presure plate Brad
