  1. … am I correct in saying the front axles are the same as the rear … ?

Nope - Front is a ‘DOJ’ not the same as rear CV Shaft ...

  2. Hi,

If I recall correctly the unit itself is held in by 3 10mm bolts to underside of dash / back of gutter.

    Post Pic Here Later :

Sorry its for AUS so you'll just have to flip it ... :P

Once you have it out, can see clearly the case splits in half & is held together with about 1/2 dozen spring clips.

The motor itself is bolted to one end via 3 rubber grommets.

Assemble in reverse order you took apart ... :)

    I hope this helps ...

  3.

Not sure, but it could be off the transmission ?

Alternatively the front engine cross member mounts - Do the holes line up with anything ? ... :)

    Cheers, Bantum ...

  4. Thanks for the encouragement ... :)

Your more than welcome to share, as you say the more people know about it the better chances of it happening ... :D

As to more leg room, the Subaru XV is much roomier / comfortable than a Brumby / Brat, which is what I've based this Ute on - so no problems there ... B)

    Cheers, Bantum ...

  5. Thanks Ryan,

Not sure how many hours I've spent on it, as it has mostly been in my spare time ... ;)

Currently the Brumby / Brat is the only 4wd vehicle that I know of, which is small / light weight ( economical ), good as a general run-about & a fun car to drive. Only natural to want a successor to it as they are becoming increasingly difficult to find & maintain.

Doubt Subaru will ever manufacture another though, so it's just a pipe dream for now ... :(

Got some updates due shortly, just need to upload some pictures later ... :)

    Cheers, Bantum ..

  6. Sorry I missed this :

Gotta have the name on the right side of the gate for the us market, the left side is for the dealer logo

Yeah - branding is optional, it might not end up on the final cut ... :)

    Cheers, Bantum ...

  9. Gidday,

I was searching through some old threads and found some great info on Subaru Weights. Not entirely sure where this page should go on here ( I did a search on here - but nothing was listed ) so thought I'd share this link by Kostamojen :

The Subaru Curb Weight thread ( Almost complete list ) : http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=915025

Might also ask Kostamojen if we could update it with some metric figures ... :)

    Cheers, Bantum ...

Add : Thanks for making a sticky ...

Note : That spelling is optional, Kerb in Australia ... :)
