86 Brat rack & pinion bushings
Thanks for the links~ forwarding them on to the shop now. I'll see what they say. Also came across the following link: http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/Suspension-Steering-/33579/i.html?_nkw=Brumby Met a Guy from Brisbane Australia at a car show.He said that Brumby's are still pretty easy to find there as well as parts. Not sure it's a perfect match yet. I'll keep you posted, Thanks!

86 Brat rack & pinion bushings
Recently put new front tires on my 86 Brat and noticed a distinct change in handling ~very sloppy. It seemed fine prior to that. Initially thought of front end alignment issues. Took it to a shop & here's the real problem: severely worn rack and pinion bushings. Shop tech has been searching for the parts to no avail.& so have I for most of the morning. Debating contacting suppliers in Australia for "Brumby" parts as a guy I met from Brisbane at a car show said that Brumby's are everywhere down there. Any recommendations/advice would be appreciated~ Thanks in advance! .

Older Subaru emblems and decals
I just installed a full set of Brat Decals on my 86. They look great. I'll post photos when I get a chance. Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Full-Set-of-Subaru-Brat-Vinyl-Decal-Stripes-/140718438794?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20c378f98a&vxp=mtr

Battery hooked up wrong
Thank you everyone~great information. Of the three fusible links shown in the photo above , one of the green ones was melted all the way through. I'll be ordering a replacement from a Subaru dealership. Used a temporary jumper just to see if that was the cause. Brat started right up & everything worked~no blown fuses bulbs, nothin! When it came to it was pretty PO'd at me. So I'm going to let it rest and baby it for a few days. Thanks again!

Compiling database for Gen2 Brat sales evaluations
Paid $4000 even for an 86 in very good, but not pristine condition. I've wanted one for many years, and live in Maryland. If you check Craigslist & ebay- Brats are almost never for sale here. Could've paid less~ but I have a Brat now. Happy am I~

Options for Rust Protection?
Thanks for all the suggestions~ Fluid Film it is, although it sounds eerily ambiguous. The guy behind the counter will know what I'm talking about, right? Anyway~ I was hoping there would be a product that folks would recommend. I'll give it a rinse and dry, and try the Fluid film soon. Color combo~not original. Does make it easy to find in a parking lot. Actually planning on getting a full set of White Brat Vinyl Decals: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Full-Set-of-Subaru-Brat-Vinyl-Decal-Stripes-/140718438794?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20c378f98a&vxp=mtr Would like it to look a little more authentic. ~Thanks again!

Options for Rust Protection?
I've got an 86' Brat that was Florida owned and driven most of it's life. Now that I own it and drive in Maryland, I'm nervous that the road salts are going to start eating it alive. I get a lot of compliments on it's condition~ no rust at all! Just want to keep it that way. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Brat Jump Seats available
In my online search efforts came across two different sets of rear jump seats for a Brat. One set in Ohio I've bought. The other set is in Knoxville TN, and I was his only interested caller Knoxville is too far for me to go. Shipping I'm guessing is too steep for most people I offered to help him find a prospective buyer~ Interested parties email me @ haineswestfam@aol.com & I'll get you his contact info.

Brat Blower Motor Relay~Problem solved!
Yes~well sort of. By fixed if you mean does the fan work now, yes it does. But here's how I fixed it, I turned on the fan switch and it worked. All fan speeds work, and it works every time now. Nervous that it may not stay that way, but we shall see. I'm pretty sure that I her two rapid clicks when I turn on the switch, one under the dash and one under the hood... I think. When I turn it off it's the same thing. But the fan is working, so I'm happy. Thanks for asking. I'll give an update if it craps out again.

Brat Blower Motor Relay~Problem solved!
Thank you GLoyale!~ I'll be reviewing everything you and Loyale 2.7 Turbo passed along with my Electrical Tech Friend in the next day or two. I trust his knowledge/judgement more than my own. Great info & photos. As soon as I get that motor to spin again I'll let you know. Thanks again!

Brat Blower Motor Relay~Problem solved!
Wow~you guys have given me a lot to think about. I'd like to see if I can find the previous owner & verify if he had aftermarket AC installed. And I hope everyone understands that I'm not saying anyone led me down a wrong path. I'm assuming pretty much everyone here is more knowledgeable than I am. I'm reassured that the consensus seems to be that an aftermarket AC was installed. That also explains why no one's advice seemed to work. All I know is changing the relay under the hood was the only thing that got the fan spinning again.I'll try to digest and follow what you guys have given me. I'll probably feed some of this to an Electrical Tech that I know, and see if he can walk me through some of the more technical stuff. I'll keep you posted. Not sure how soon I'll have an update. My daughter's getting married in six weeks, and funding for anything else is kind of low priority.Thank you!!
