I've seen 2 different types of bearing in ea81 strut mounts. one is a layer of fine needle bearings grouped in a circle, and the other is just a pair of thrust bearings, which should be replaceable with a set from any hardware store....

nice. I like the dark blue...

put +12V to your motor to make sure it work with direct power... I had one go bad, and it was actually a crack in the motor housing that made the worm drive inoperable...

mostly used as my tow rig, and general work truck...
'72 3/4 Ton with 4" lift.

Awesome mick, thank you! I looked at the Subarusofthe80s paint chart, but didn't know which gray it was.
I have the actual paint chip pages that the paint stores had in their binders...
always been meaning to scan them and add to the page....
that gray according to my chips, was '84 only. I've only seen it on coupes too...

The Ski wagon may no longer be the ski wagon after seeing this. I am in love with this color (Thanks Kiwi) I just need the color code. Next year when the car goes for paint, it may become this gray color instead of Porcelain White.
1984 - code 394, Misty Gray Metallic
Du Pont code N8326

I still don't like how it feels. Its rather stiff, and again it doesn't always follow your foot when letting it up, its laggy if you will.
I think I may just go to the dealer tomorrow and order a genuine cable. Maybe it'll be normal :-p
do you have a return spring hooked up, or the hill holder to provide the return spring?
-
You must be a lucky man..! Hell, I ordered a Borg Warner Coolant temp switch from the Hub location for O'reillys, Hub driver dropped it off a few hours later, I looked at it and and its like 3x the size of the original, it won't even screw into the port on the intake (Its like an M20!)
So, I'll write up a return invoice tomorrow and maybe go order one at Subaru.
the coolant temp switch is what I sent you. do you mean the temp sender in the intake manifold?

the custom exhaust shop I always go to always seems to have them on hand to fit....

The car seems to be in Good conditions to be a Good restoration project. (But is hard to tell by a single photo)
I want to ask you very kindly: Why don't you restore it? ... too many Soobs?
Kind Regards.
it's too rusty underneath, plus I have a bunch of work I want to do to my firebird, plus other house things need attention. the only reason I even looked at this was because I was looking for a spare ea81... but for the price, I couldn't pass on it, just to get the doors and fenders....
I've got a feeling the larger parts will be staying with some locals....

Yes. The clear dome lense is there and the vinyl floor mats too. The drivers side door and mirror came from a black turbo though it was painted white long ago.

not yet.

yeh being an owner of an '89 fat case ea71 hydro lifter I can confirm that it does NOT share the ea81/ea82 crankshaft bolt pattern..
Kaz
there's the answer I needed....

Picked this up this past weekend...
spare doors and fenders for my Brat
round headlight set-up for my Brat
tires are almost full tread Douglas Xtra-trac (sp)
notched alloys (missing 1 center cap)
has a freeze plug popped on the passenger side head...

this is the exact one I got.
the 7301 is supposed to be for the early ones, but it worked fine on mine. it's taller than the 7302 by a little. not sure how much, but in a Brat it doesn't matter much... in a wagon, it could conceivably make it tighter...

Momo 7301 adapter
both are from Crowder Customs, which is where I got my adapter from 2 months ago... (my dusty pic above)

Just did it. Ordered the wheel. Now, since this is a 6-hole mount, the Boss/SAAS adaptor should work right? I think this will be the same pattern at Nardi ect.
Now, where can I get the
13-BK121L adaptor? AU seller has them, but does not ship to the U.S (Plus I don't have $80 yet)
6 gole mount. what's the diameter. 6 hole is also Momo

I always wanted to do the round headlight conversion on my Brat, but never assembled all of the parts and sold off what I had... I was also concerned about replacement turn signals/bezels too as they are harder to find than the stock '82 style which I have lots of spares...
now I have the opportunity to do the conversion again (picked up a mostly running '86 STD Hatch, HG failure on EA71)
convert or sell..... that is the question....
post up your pics of your conversions to help me decide

a word of caustion using those relays... they are not particularly suited for lots of vibration or hot/wet environments....
