Any recommendations on a set of tools I can purchase to help me with these things? Also I see a lot about cv joints. Should I check those? And what exactly am I looking for with those? Do I have to remove the wheel?

I have a 2003 Subaru outback H6 sedan and I was wondering if someone could give me some tips for maintenance. I just replaced my idler and tensioner pulleys after my belt broke and I know almost nothing about maintaining a vehicle as this is my first car. I would like to learn some things and I'm really good at figuring stuff out and following directions. I've owned my car for about a year and I was wondering what else I should look for that may need to be fixed or replaced. If someone could also post links to videos then that would be very appreciated. Another part that I'm lacking in is tools. I don't have very many tools of my own for working on a car and if anyone knows where I could get a good set for a good price I'd really feel much more confident.

Is it worth it to trade up to this newer model or would I be best off sticking with my H6?

I was thinking about trading in my 2003 outback H6 for a 2008 legacy 2.5i special edition with a manual transmission. It has only 70k miles compared to the 140k that my H6 has and it's going for about $6300. Also what does the special edition include? I read something about a sound system. Anyway I'm looking for some input on this thought of mine.

Are there any ways to increase power in a 2003 outback H6? Not saying I'm going to do it but I'm really just curious because I've heard of some people who have put superchargers in theirs.

Would it be a bad idea to combine raised king springs with one of your lifts???

This is my 2003 Subaru Outback Sedan H6 3.0, I bought it last April. Haven't had a single problem with it at all since I've owned her. She has about 135k on her at the moment. Now I'm just trying to figure out what to do; I'm thinking of lifting it a few inches.

Besides the engine, what else should I be sure to really inspect? What are some major components that may need replacing, etc...?

I also found another car I'm interested in. Its a '96 5 speed manual with 190k miles for $1400. Aren't these extremely reliable? Condition inside and out is relatively good. Any input on this?

I was looking for something with a manual transmission for my brother and found this ad. I was wondering if this is a pretty good deal? Yeah I was looking into getting an sjr lift but idk if it'd be good to combine that with king springs for extra lift. Will it cause complications?

Oh ok then that is what it is. I have the h6 3.0. So does this have any effect if you try to lift it with king springs? Or does that not work as well as it would for a 4 cylinder?

Yeah but I still can't find what contributes to that extra 1/2" of clearance. Ive looked on there before and I checked again but still don't know why.
