  1. What do you mean when you say i have to extract the axle? Be back in 10, have to borrow neighbors impact wrench.
  2. That last picture sums up where i'm at right now. My assembly looks a little different though because i had to remove 4 allen heads. It doesnt seem as though i can replace the studs at the point. I have to take that stud plate off. The axle nut is the only thing holding me back. Suggestions to get that off?
  3. Excellent suggestions! THe rotor is now off....for the hub nut now. I've tried a breaker bar on it, and it wont work...Does it need turned left to loosen?? Should i use an impact wrench on it? What do i need to do about that locker on the hub nut?
  4. How do i back off the parking brake shoes? I also do not have access to these bolts, as it is 8:30 pm. It seems to me that the rotor is one big piece that has been run through a lathe, is this right? Seems like the studs are pounded through the inner part of the rotor...Any of this sound right?
  5. I tried pulling it off with the e-brake off. Basically....as far as i've gotten is removing the caliper and the thing the caliper attaches to. What do i have to "undo" to let the rotor slide free?
  6. How do I remove the rear rotor on my 99 subaru forester? I have removed the caliper and cannot get the darn rotor off. I have to replace the wheel studs before tomorrow because I have to work tomorrow. Please help me! Edit: Also, do i need to remove the axle nut? Is an impact wrench necessary? Is the axle nut clockwise thread or reverse thread?
  7. I'm picking up my "brand new 1999 forester s" 5 speed this morning from the dealer. It has 80k miles on it. Any suggestions on what fluids I need to check/replace? The motor oil has just been changed, along with the filter. I am so excited to pick this car up. It's so cherry. Thanks for any advice.

It looks as though if you had front duals then you'd be doing more "plowing" through mud than just floating over it. I think that you would lose a lot of momentum trying to get through that messy stuff. For mud, I'd skip the duals in the front.
  9. ok, so im a little inebriated...(hey, at least I spelled it right) so, I want to beef up my carrying capcacity... i need...correct me if i'm wrong. 88-89 front accord springs and RX springs for the front? Question is... what RX springs do I need for the front of my 92 Subaru wago? (4wd). Inform me as much as you can... please!
  10. Will be driving to Missoula Montana from Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania within a few weeks. I've realized that I MUST upgrade my stock springs. 4 people and all of their gear to Montana will bottom my car out to the point of destruction. I figure I can get my hands on some accord springs, but the RX springs in my area will be tough to find. Does anybody have some that will fit my car and are in half decent condition? Also, I've never done a spring swap, but I dont imagine that it'll be that difficult. How bout some pointers? Thanks guys.
  11. Boots are great. Good when I bought the car. I'm putting bumpy/hard miles on this car. It will clunk when hitting bumps and when a jolt in accleration occurs.

I just did a search, and this came up. It's always something to consider. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/catalog.gsp?cat=165124&path=0:5436:120160:120006:119896
  13. I'm hearing klunk klunk from my front end. Sound's like it's on the drivers side. Also, at highway speed, there is a "rubbing/grinding" sound. It's pretty subtle. It's also from the front end. CV joint? I'm really not sure, although it's probably an ez answer. Whattya think?
  14. I've run coopers on my f-150 for years, and they're an awesome tire. Good price too.
  15. The unibodys are sure stiff enough.
