  1. lol guys, we're not driving to CO just for the coors factory :-p Anyone know if it's worth the drive up to yellowstone that time of year?
  2. Sorry.. didn't read the whole thread, but with the 05's there's a few things screwy w/ the cruise control. 1) bring it to the dealer, have them update your cuise software & ECU, get all the newest fuel maps, etc... if that's not it, and it's a manual transmission have them check the neutral position switch/washer thingy, it's known to come loose, and kick the cruise off. when i got my OBXT the cruise would work for an hour.. then jolt and turn off.. and continue to do that, i brought it to a dealer, then updated the software, and it's all good now.
  3. Hah, awesome guys. We'll be there sometime between March 16-26th.. with 1700 miles of driving... twice.. in there we might stay a bit longer.. depending on which classes we want to skip for 3 or 4 days
  4. Hmm.. i may miss that by a day technically our break is march 16-26... but it's also a 1700 mile drive back to school
  5. Whatever you do, just make sure you're having fun with it i'm sure you'll come around some day to help out with all of our problems, but until then, we'll miss you man. and to whoever pissed you off enought to leave
  6. Alright, so this spring break my girlfiend and i are heading out to Colorodo. We're planning on making my sister's place in Golden our basecamp. So, what is there to do in Colorodo? we've been looking up stuff, planning on skiing at least once, maybe some hiking, of course the coors factory tour , some national parks, if they're open would be cool. We were also thinking of heading down to see the Royal Gorge Bridge, and check out Colorodo Springs for a day or so. So if anyone has ideas or what to do, or wants to hangout, go skiing, maybe some hiking, let us know, we're open to ideas. We'll be sportin' the OBXT, so i won't be wheelin' her too hard
  7. it's normal, part of the 'lazy-boy' feel of the new outbacks  you should try hitting a hard turn a little too fast... you can get these puppies up on 2 wheels if you're not careful
  8. The sounds like my OBS did with borla headers and the 03' WRX exhaust on her
  9. Let's just say i've gone places w/ the OBXT & Dunlop M3's on her than... well... most people wouldn't do it we got hammered with now up here in the north country... it took it like a champ... especially a little offroad rallying... ohh how it loves life :-p
  10. scooby, where'd run the power for your light forces? on my impreza i ran wires down the inside trim of the windshield.. but those lights used quite a bit smaller wire... i was thinking maybe run it back through the trunk gasket?
  11. Like it was said previously in this post... dead blow hammer. or.. you could get creative and thread the ends on...
  12. tha thappens to me every time i drive on the highway with bad weather... these huge pickup trucks & SUV's go flying by... usually see them off the road a few miles later.... do they really think they're that invincible in their huge vehicles?
  13. in my 05 OB XT i can get... 20-27mpg... depending on tires & how much lead is in my foot at any given time.... w/ the snow tires i'm averaging about 23mpg... with the non-snows i average about 25... on the highway, no cruise i can get upwards of 27-28 being able to change the fuel maps also helps quite a bit
  14. if you leave the cable alone fo rlong enough.. when it's super cold it may start to scream
  15. sweet, i like that weight better than the other i found. hmm.. with 4 of those puppies running maybe we can utilize the exhaust to heat a ram jet... and maybe strap some hybrid rockets on to the bottom for some sub-orbital fun!! imagine that... you hike to 30,000ft, then you get picked up by a copter and rocket to sub orbit... mauhaahha!!! or... not...
  16. they send this bad boy http://www.engadget.com/2007/02/05/group-plans-unmanned-everest-rescue-helicopter/ yeah.. we think our prof saw that article.. and made up our 'project' oh well, i'm not even mad, the math was easy enough...
  17. i tried googling it... need 350+hp per rotor though i just want to know how much an sti motor weighs... that'll be my base line :-p does ~430lbs, full (oil & good stuff) sound about right?
  18. we're calling it 'HARV' (high altitude rescue vehicle) it's an unmanned rescue chopper, payload: 3 people who screwed up bad anyhow, we plan on cramming 4 piston cylender engine in this thing.. (hahah....) because our prof said no turbines... :-\ anyhow, we got a little creative but yeah, how much do these engines weigh, just need an estimate for our sizing stuff.
  19. Yeah yeah, i tried searching, couldnt' find the numbers. How much do the following weigh.. EJ22 EJ22T EJ25 EJ25T ... designing a helicopter that needs 350hp.. not not a roo i know getting 350 out of a EJ22 might be a little hard... (not actually making it.. just looking for power/weight ratios really) i suppose this should be offtopic.. oops!
  20. they body will be fine.. bust out a welder and it'll be good as new
  21. Well when i bought it, it smelled like armoral (52k on the odo) and... lately it's been smelling like frozen pool water from the scuba gear... that and hay.. because i was hauling a bail for a while... nope, no new car smell for me :-p oh yeah, i heart Zap's OBS... although i still think it needs a bumper
  22. OBXT + now = i haven't pulled anyone out with mine yet... although i did managed to get the passenger side sucked into a snow filled ditch the other day (100% the girlfriend's fault, i swear... ).. anyhow, after trying to back out, with little luck, and a whole lot of burnt clutch smell i descided to try forward.. threw it in 1st, dumped the clutch at about 4000rpms, threw some snow EVERYWHERE, and pop, back on the road
  23. swaybars are overrated
