My93 auto gets 34/38, so I wouldnt say autos are worse than manuals....

I know it has 2 drive belts.... Ihave the same car. Had them both replaced rather easily.

It was indeed just checked on Wednesday and cleaned out as there was a very small amount of dust and now it's still just as loud....

Hi all, I have a 1993 Subaru Impreza L and I have an annoying problem. Upon braking, I experience an very loud sqeaul, the kind you would expect from a car needing new brakes. Sometimes it's louder thanother days, and it gives me a damn headache! There's no grinding involved either. Brakes have been chacked MANY times, new semi-metallic brake pads on the front, which the noise seems to be coming from, new rotors, and everything else checks out fine. The brakes work just fine but I'm confused. Is this just characteristic of the older Imprezas or what??Any input wouldbe appreciated, as my uncle who did the brakes knows the car well;he ownedit before me and is a Subaru-certified technician.

I received my 1993 Subaru Impreza L from my mother when my poor beloved 1993 Chevrolet Corsica was t-boned and wrecked by a Toyota Camry. I was very impressed with the Corsica, it never once broke down and ran like a dream. Once I inherited the Scoob,I fell in love all over again. After getting frusterated just trying to do a simple oil change on the Chevy, which was really not so simple due to the idiotic design of the car, the Scoob presented itself as a dream. Because of him, I now want to be an auto technician and love Subaru:banana:

Hmmm,am I about the only one with a GOOD paint job by Maaco? Had them completely strip and repaint my 1993 Corsica and it looked great even a year old. Not sure how long that would have lasted though,considering a year after it was painted, it was wrecked....

I saw them at Auto Zone for $5.49. Not saying that they were the best quality, but it was very simple to find the right color. It had "Glacier White-Subaru" on it....
