Ok, the Brat runs great now. It'll sit forever and idle perfectly, but once you go driving it starts to stop after a block or two. It's acts like it's not getting gas. Has anyone seen this happen before?

The fuel pump doesn't seem to be getting power. It seemed fine, then just stopped. Any ideas? '86 Brat

Carfax will only go back to 1981. Needs to have 17 number VIN. It sucks, I can't check my '78 Brat. Sorry.

Here are a couple pictures of my new ’86 Brat. It will soon be my daily driver. It needs a tune up and probably a fuel pump. The interior has seen better days, but that’s easy to fix. Also, I picked up a '79 in Showlow . It pops out of 4th, but there is a tranny in the back that is supposed to be good. Runs really good and I have parts cars to fix things. Thought you might like. I just picked up a nice '86 Brat yesterday. The guy I bought it from said it was fine until the EGR light came on. It runs great. then intermittently it does this surging/chugging thing for a moment, then runs great again. EGR and ECS lights are on. I can't find after market parts. Is there some thing else that might be happening other than actually needing new parts?

My '98 Forester has a blown head gasket. Since the differential is whining, we figured it would be a good time to do everything. My question is can I use the drive train and engine out of an Outback? It's a 2004. Any information will be GREATLY appreciated.

It actually was a Subaru shop that checked it. They didn't do a compression test, but they did check for hydrocarbons in coolant. I thought it was head gasket, too (still do), but I felt better when they said no. I was just hoping that maybe there might be another explaination.

1998 Forester was running hot and pushnig coolant out. Had it checked out and the thermostat was stuck. They check for blown head gasket, and no coolant in oil and no hydrocarbons in coolant. That was four days ago and all seemed good. It's still not overheating, but I smelled antifreeze and coolant is again pushed out of radiator. Overflow tank is full and some was pushed out of it, too. Antifreeze doesn't seem to be getting sucked back in. Any ideas what is going on?

I've always wanted a woody (no snickers!!), but I have top admit it looks weird on a Forester. Maybe there would be a way to do and make it look cool. The paint should definately be something other than brown.
