i'll test the stat tomorrow, but this is the fifth that has been put in and the same problom

have you the linkage?? i hear that the 4speed has crapy linkage

local shop used laser and it read the same as my guage( with in about 5 degres)

have oem temp stat from subaru in it already. i'll check the switch, but what do you think about the low temp when i'm driving?? the guage is good

my 81 ea81 temp is climing at a idle, but when i'm driving it stays at 160. theromastat, water pump are both new. upper and lower hoses are both close in temp, rad looks like it has good flow. the heater blows warm if that. any ideas? Thanks

Fixed!! Sprayed the maf its clean as a whistle and re did the Temp sensor and it is running again although I noticed that the Throttle cable needs to be replaced and the waterpump to!

that coolant temp might be possible because The I noticed the connections are corroded, I'm gonna get some coke and clean the connections.. I also had a problem with fusible links yesterday, someone had put a green in the black spot in the box, and the green was really worn. (replaced with a black) but I had loss of power under accel so I'm wondering if maybe I'm looking at timing belts.

Well I purchased this thing on Friday and have had my first problem, She fires but will not run, When I pulled in last night she was idleing fine, althought there was loss of power on hard accell. any Ideas? I'm gonna try a tune up.

Keys are old and don't want to work. headliner sags. needs belts. runs smooth but needs a tune up. a little torque bind. Bad paint I took her to work and pressure washed her she looks a hundred times better. but not perfect. needs another wash to get everything. Post new pics soon.

I actually used a HELP! kit for a toyota exhaust manifold and took a tap set and retaped the holes for it and the studs stay in place I am just having problems keeping the nuts on, I'm gonna try a few things cause I'm probably gonna pull the motor.... and reseal the sucker, while doing a 5 spd swap.

Ok, I have been fighting with ways to quiet my exhaust leak... I will tighten up the bolts and it will sound good for a little while. and slowly get worse again.. I have temporarly parked my subie in favor of my new 91 Accord. (yes I know two months at a honda dealership got me.) and I'm gonna try to get some of the uncomfortables fixed... and maybe do the five speed swap and rebuild the carb.... And Paint.... Definatly paint. hey and my 800th post two.!! Yes I have used the search function... I have tried it all... any new suggestions... I'm thinking fab up some keepers like the old ford 352 Keepers for the exhaust. and some lock washers?

We think We have narrowed it down to either the backing plate or the ball joint... but its weird cause it stoped making that squeak as soon as someone else got in the car last night.

My wagon is making a chirping noise. Its sounds like when driving it is coming from the front driver side it sounds like I'm killing a bird... I just did an axle and pads and rotors, I'm wondering if we didn't torque it enough... and its wereing on the bearing?? we torqued it to 130...
