Finally got to my moms and got the car Cleaned up and moved into the garage. And all of this for $100

Nipper your point is taken well... I already have to much money invested in parts to mess around. I'm gonna take both the block and the heads in to be checked and I'm buying new head bolts. I am using Subaru Engine Set Part Number 10105AA052, the shop I bought this car from Superior Subaru of Burien told me that with the amount of miles on the rig 146k, and the fact that the car still runs beautifully the heads should need to be machined but if I have the tiniest amount of warpage I'm going to.. Unfortunately It may have to wait now I hit a piece of wood on the way back home from work and blew a belt on my one of my tires. and I can't find a replacement till monday. Stupid Cooper tires! Not buying them again. I'm gonna go with something more mainstream. Next time.

No I have not had the heads machined yet. I don't think its that severe... I think its just gasket failure, We will find out when I get it apart, if they are within tolerance. it didn't milkshake it just is a little exhaust into the coolant.

This weekend I'm gonna be rebuilding my EJ22T anyone in the seattle area want to help? I've already got a few hundred in parts!! Just repairing the headgasket.

Two quick questions I'm not having much luck with finding out what I need to know, Or at least definitive answers.. One if I do the brushes is there anything else I need to do? second, can I drain the Subaru Goo out and put regular power steering fluid in?

I had a similar dragging problem on my EA81 and I took it apart and replace the pads and I sprayed the hell out of the Caliper with brakeclean and got the little tube of brake lube and lubed it really nice-- couldn't afford the new caliper and it worked for another 2 year--

I want one now- but with the way things are going these things are gonna be 5k before long

I have my New 88 xt6 AUTO and when on the freeway the speedo stops at 55mph- then when I hit 70 it jumps and starts working again-- Any Ideas? hey atleast I have an excuse when I get pulled over but officer my speedometer only says that I'm going 55!

Connie-- There is a product that could be a Semi Permanent fix for your situation- Go to your local auto parts store and get a bottle of Blue Devil- its about $55 dollars-- they also guarantee it so you get your money back if it does not fix the problem-- It would be good for a temporary fix--- I have never seen it fail--

ok, I recently picked up a longer commute so my 6 is a little thirsty- so I found an EA81 GL Wagon that has a seized engine- He wants $200 for it but the body and interior are pretty nice and has the third Eye-- and well what I was thinking was maybe throw an ej18 in there or a webered ea81 -- hell I might even consider using marvel mmo in the cylinders and try to free it up until I can get something figured out what do you think?
