Welcome, I am also a 91 SS owner as well as an owner of Several XT6's my SS is sitting with its engine in pieces in my moms garage!! Hopefully to be done by winter

After several months of nothingness. I finally got some more done on my engine.... I put the Rear Main Seal in... And Got the Number 4 piston out and put the spray nozzle back in and now I just have to get Rings and clean the piston to get it back in the hole... It wont go back in with the old Rings?? so rings and put back together.. no pictures cause I was working on like seven different things at once... Cleaning up my moms house.

I think thats what I'm gonna do... is tap it out from the other side...

AGGHH!! thats a lot more work than I want!! I just want this thing done already!

Ok, I'm trying to get the piston out I got the clip off and now I need to get the pin out so I can pull the piston out... any Ideas?

Well, Today I made a trip out to pull a part... no radiators... DAMN! but I did notice that the more I let it heat up- Cool down- the more room for water... so I also noticed that the Tstat is probably F-ed so I'm gonna put in a new one...

Its coming out today btw its phase 1 ej22

Ok, So I got this car with an overheating problem... The water pump was seized, PO put some goo in it because it had a leak... The Passenger side of the Radiator got hot... while the Drivers side was cool..to the touch... so I'm almost certain that I have a problem with either a bad stat or Radiator... any ideas? Idle is awesome and no bubbling. It drives well...just has this issue... and what it stays dead on for quite a while and then All of a sudden the Temp will peg which almost makes me think it might be a sensor..

Yeah I know... its still overheating though.... I'm thinking that its got a clogged radiator... so I'm hitting pull apart for another one.... and gonna toss a another thermostat in there... so hopefully the problem will solve its self..

After doing some research I realized I'm an Idiot, and that I should not be aloud to work on cars..

Water pump completely seized

We are assuming its the waterpump... cause its loosing water while being driven and We don't know where its going...

$300 Has an overheating problem... I think its the Waterpump cause I'm getting an Extremely wierd noise from the timing covers... But Hey I've wanted a wagon for a while...

Not to Start anything but I Own 10 of these XT6's all of them Auto Except for one. All of them AWD... ALL xt6's came AWD the 4's on the other hand did not they had a 2wd tranny... And all of them have been flat towed at one time or the other.

Good year makes Excellent belts... I have yet to have one fail on me, I have seen several gates belts fail... My Company is merging with another company so that is the reason we are changing..

I don't have a photo... but My old DL had the Bracket... so I'm assuming it was here also..:-\ I wondered what the hell the bracket was for..

Call aarons auto wrecking I believe they have atleast the rear glass.. (I just got one and they told me they had two more... If not I have a parts 6 for sale... (well Officially I don't but I will have it up in the next couple of weeks.

My .02 From Working in a BRAND NEW Honda/Kia Shop, something like 70 bays... I was a parts guy working in the Shop Parts department.. (long story) I very rarely saw the techs working with power tools... Except when they had to.... It was a quiet shop.. except for the Occasional Curse word... Techs at this dealership can make more money doing PDI's than anything else. PDI's at this dealership pay 5 hours.

Not that It matters... I dolly towed a Auto xt6 250 miles with out a fuse.... got to were I was going and backed it off the dolly and am still driving it today... **BTW AIR ride still works on this one !!

Gatorback = Duralast Pretty much... One Think I have learned as an Employee of A 3000+ store chain...Things get renumbered... like my water pumps were a1 Cardone... now they are some other brand.... My gatorback timing belts are Now gates... my .02 says buy the Duralast, We know Autozone isn't going anywhere.. so we know your warranty will be around..
