Well, I'm just replacing the front and rear seals. The headgaskets are warrantied for 30 days if I just install it, if I flow test and check the Radiator, its warrantied for one year. -

May have found a JDM Engine. EDIT:: Purchased JDM Engine, Very Nice looking Only missing Alternator, But has PS Pump, and AC Compressor. So I would have those options I could add in the future. I'm out $600 but its warrantied for a year so I'm happy. I'm gonna swap my intake onto it... and get it installed here pretty soon. If someone Wants the PS Pump or the AC compressor and bracket LET ME know. -

Checked it out, And redid the head gaskets today and got instant Milkshake. We checked the heads. didn't mill them.... but checked them according to the spec. Torqued it 5 over all the way around. I'm assuming its a cracked head. (passenger side.) So I'm looking for a Long Block. or a EJ22 SWAP I'm gonna focus on my Legacy Sedan now... -

Sticking Choke?? Carb issue inside
xoomer replied to xoomer's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Definitely have a base skill set but I know very little about Carbs, I think I might have it figured out though, at least the choke part, my Ported switch on the intake, only has one hose coming off of it, and the other one is plugged. The one that is plugged looks like it is supposed to go to the choke, at least according to the FSM. GD, I might take you up on this offer.... -

I have dealt with them before, I like em but They want a lot of money for stuff. I usually deal with Rob and Steve at Superior subaru in Burien -

I'm begining to wonder if my choke is even working because its Idle when cold is only about 1000 to 900? -
Ok, so I seem to have my Carb pretty much dialed in on my Brat, I only have two problems now. 1. Some times she takes her time coming back down to an Idle 700 or 800 rpm, and will sit at about 1000. Other times she is just fine. 2. After running around town or what have you, if I shut it off and say let her sit for 15 or 20 minutes, then she will fire up and idle great but the minute you go to put a load on her she starts to sputter, shake and vibrate... and will do so for about 2 or three miles... I'm not really knowledgeable about carbs but I'm trying.. Any Ideas to check? its an 83, And I can't find any vacuum leaks. tomorrow I'm going to Liberally spray the hell out of it with carb cleaner inside and out.

Ok, I'm hoping for a smooth ride tomorrow, I'm installing my engine back into my legacy Sport, and I'm trying to figure out how to re-use the Clutch as it looks new. its the Hydraulic clutch system And I'm not sure how the Throw out bearing comes off. as it is attached to the Pressure plate, or can I get away with throwing it in there and then pushing the Arm into place? Zach

Ok, So some times More often then not, I have a rough idle, and some Severe hesitation. I had a similar problem in my old EA81, so I checked the Distributor, and I have some up and down slop, and some small amount of side to side. would this be the possible cause of this problem? The carb is recently rebuilt, so I'm kinda at a loss? Zach
