I am Picking up a Brat topper this week and wondering how you attach them to the bed? I don't want to drill anything... how do you do it?
-
Ok, So I have been doing this round about with my Brat on heat first it was this then it was that now its this.. I have heat now! on the passenger side:-\ And warm to body temp air on the passenger side. have checked the Flapper for the outside air and that gave me heat finally. I had to pull the Heater control valve because it was leaking. But I have another one, my friend says put it in and it will slow the flow of the coolant in the heater core so that I have good heat.. I'm a bit hesitant to put it back in. I was thinking I should replace core. then put it in. I'm slowly putting this together. But I would like to be able to check off the Electrical, and start working on the interior, like new carpet and getting the seats cleaned up.. as well as working on rust so I can put my new doors on. Anyone Got suggestions?

88 Wagon, title, Wa state... totaled question...

Actually it Can... They fought me on it at the licensing agency, so I went to the Actual DOL, and they said it was fine as long as you can prove that no money was exchanged. I.E. Written Notarized statements, Or both persons present. There should be no Reason that you could give a friend a car, And then that person gives it back to you. no tax either way... and if they say you must, Argue. (long story But goes to my very argumentative and anti Government days. Oh Wait I'm still in that faze.) -
Ok, So as some of you know I traded a XT6 to Sti-wolf for a lifted wagon that was in Less than stellar condition, I then had a friend who knew someone who needed a runner and a driver, he had a brat with a blown head gasket. We made the trade. I towed the brat home. I found an engine, got it swapped in. thanks to a fellow board member. have not really tested it out yet as I also needed a radiator, and several other things. but a friend of mine who cruises Aarons auto wrecking, found a Perfect Dash, with all the switches and everything I need plus a radiator.... So with a now empty savings account I have a brat that will hopefully be great after a day or two more work. Engine $200 Trip to get engine $100 Engine mounts and exhaust manifold gaskets I didn't need $68 dollars. Long story, We went searching when the old ones were broken-- didn't bother to look on the new engine. DAMN!! $150 at Aarons for a perfect dashpad lots of other misc parts. (thanks Sean and Tom) I will get awesome pictures and stuff this coming week...

Thing is its not milk shaked. Oil is a nice Brown color, Smells like oil. And seems to be ok. the only Milkshake is in the Air Cleaner... that's it, Thats why I'm confused,
-
So what are the chances that this is a Intake Gasket issue? or should I not even waste my time?
-
(unfortunately) The tree run has been postponed for me this year.. But, This is definitely a clean rig. Compared to the Wagon, she has some rust... but nothing too bad... and at least she has the Jump Seats...
-
and all it cost me was a lifted wagon... Previous owner said Blown Head gasket, But she starts right up, and no Milkshake.... Except in the Air Cleaner. and then the passenger side Intake Manifold gasket looks blown... so I'm thinking that might be the problem... (I don't want to do Head Gaskets but will if I have too.)

A question for the EA81 guys out there
xoomer replied to xoomer's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...

A question for the EA81 guys out there
xoomer replied to xoomer's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The dilemma I have currently is the guy just wants something that could last him a couple of months, Currently I have put a fresh oil pump and tightened up a few things, gonna go through the coolant leaks next... and then off to the races... it seems to be running good specially after oil change and plugs today... still lacking power though... retimed it again today so hopefully that will get something done... I just don't want to trade him and then something major goes wrong with the wagon... it seems solid but slightly scared... -
Some one has offered in trade to me for my lifted wagon.... an 83 Brat with a blown head gasket, I'm not much into doing head gaskets and wondering how hard/Easy it is to rebuild, I tore into an EA81 a few years ago and it seems easy enough... the only thing that scares me is the pushrods I know trading my wagon for a brat in any condition should be a no brainer but to go from a decent running car to a potential new engine car is not something I really want to do... Suggestions advice or any other ideas?
