  1. NEVER TRUST A DURA TESTER, THEY DO NOT TEST FOR LOADS, and in general do not work well! When a customer Comes in to my schucks With a starter or alternator problem I prefer to test it in the car. because then you can see the condition of the engine compartment to offer solutions.

  8. Hey there all, I have a Question.. In my 81 DL my heat works but only on the floor setting, I switch it to something else and it stays on the floor, Now mind you I like warm tootsies, but when it comes to being able to see I need that a little bit more. I remember hearing That these are vacuum controled, And considering how many times my stereo has been stolen It wouldn't suprise me If a line came loose or broke. Any Ideas?
  9. This is what I did because I just had this failure this week. I pulled the axle, pulled the doj appart pulled the bearings out. Cleaned it all up. turned the inner gear thingy around and put the bearings back in and regreased it put a new boot on it and put it back in... shes hasn't done anything since. All for about $9 X..

  15. on the advice of this board and Superior Subaru!! I think I repaired it. I only drove like 4 miles on it but I think I got it... I pulled drivers Axle and pulled it apart Cleaned it turned the inner bearing apart and put the balls back in and greesed it up and put it back in. I made it work this after noon.. Hopefully its fixed. (at least until I can get a new car) or afford a new axle. My trip home is Up one of the steepest hills in town and it usually does it on the hill and it didn't do it tonight!!
  16. never got a pick of it but I had a cat that Would sleep on my desk but only if my subaru haynes manual was there. but as soon As I got home this cat would run outside and go to the hood and sleep there this was a suby cat. if he had to ride in a car he would sit quietly in the back. but any other car he would be running all over the place.
  17. EA81 wagon bearings Part Number 0513859 $19.99 and Wheel seal 0521799 $3.99 Beck Arnley numbers.
  18. ok, I'm getting a wierd shaking at different speeds. and I'm wondering if its a wheel bearing.. My rears feel fine but my drivers front seems to have some up down movement. I just replaced the tie rod. could it be the bearing? cause I can get that taken care of but I've never had a vibration like this. I also have a broken axle moving side to side in the back but it doesn't seem to be the problem. (no clicking) anyhow I can't afford to have my car down, Any ideas? I'm going to need something asap
  19. Replaced the tie rod.. and was fine.. and it was fine then after going up the steep end of 180th it started doing it again..
  20. I was driving on the freeway going about 60, and the car started shaking really bad... I pulled off the wheel and the outer tie rod looks like it seperated from the boot... and had a lot of shiny looking parts... The part of the tierod that bolts to the wheel assembly looks like its coming apart... Opinions needed, Is this the cause of my shaking??
  21. but this is my second tank of gas... (I put texaco in there.) it seems to run better.. The wierd thing is once its warm its fine. I can shut it off and start it again no problem.
  22. My car was doing the samething after I had installed my car alarm, There is a pink connector under the dash(in my car) that had come undone. this wire aparently is the one that runs power in to the computer?
  23. pretty much It wasn't giving me this problem until after I got this gas.. I had other problems.. but I remember that I got in the car the next morning and she didn't want to start
