  1. $20.50 Each?? The last time I was there, About a week ago... they had Two Webers, complete on the the car.. although they were Carter Woblees... Got the price list in front of me
  2. So whats up with the Cruise control.. Whats the number one cause of failure? could it be the stop light switch telling the car that the brake is engaged?? or maybe the switch?? I get the switch to light up but when I hit the button on the steering wheel nothing:confused:
  3. the blue smoke only appears only after downshifting or on accelleration on the freeway after decellerating-- Well then if I get my 81 running decently... how hard is it to rebuild the case? so rings and Bearings? Never done it and kinda affraid but With the help of the board perhaps I can get it done.. Or does anyone want a legacy for $400
  4. sorry, grossgary. it is an EJ22. Andon another note If I'm gonna go thru all the trouble of replacing Valve seals I may as well just do a top end rebuild that way I'm not loosing any oil at all.
  5. ok.. saw some blue smoke this morning... Assuming that its the valve seals at 225k Im sure thats the problem anyhow What tools am I gonna need, that little star thingy on the head bolts.. Also what is the suggested list of replacement stuff... I'm going to pull the motor out.
  6. Hey I've got a question my cruise control doesn't work, I think it might be the stoplight switch.. Any idea..
  7. do not use the generic autozone "bosch oxygen sensor" IT IS NOT reliable... I'm using one and having the same problem... i have about 160 on this tank and its showing that I have a quarter tank I know I can't have used that.. since I'm on a roadtrip I'm gonna stop at the autozone down here and swap out the o2 sensor and get some chevron with techron fuel additive.. so I will update you when I get home xoomer
  8. PASSED.. No airfilter, and This three bottle thing by justice brothers, one for the gas one for the oil and one for th intake...
  9. I havn't dealt with many on the board... But the ones I have dealt with are great... +1 USMB
  10. I agree, And yes my OBDII readers will do it autozone but only if check engine light is on
  11. Thats whats going on.... I'm gonna try to straiten out the situation today..
  12. My 81 wagon decided to quit on me yesterday... its spraying gas all over inside the carb like flood out amounts... any suggestions?
  13. Ok, cleaned the Maf, Used Lucas Fuel injector cleaner and sprayed a bunch of carb cleaner in throught the brake booster line, And Pulled the old air filter out. I've been driving it to work and back because the carb went out on the Purple people eater... it seems to be running great and the only time I get a check engin light is after I try the cruise control... It now Idles (barely) with a vacuum hose unhooked.. friday I'm going to try some Seafoam in the Gas and the Vacuum lines and change the oil.. and take it back down Emissions because it isn't spitting out a bunch of Brown/Black exhaust... I think part of it was the Maf or one of the other sensors was clogged so there for it set the timing to low Which would explain idleing at 500rpm and when I took a vacuum line off it would immediatly die... but now it runs smoother and boy does she get up and go..
  14. I cant figure it out... It won't start.... any one in Seattle have a Hitachi Carb for an ea81?? X
  15. Thats most Excellent MMM-Kay (to much south park for me...)
  16. hey friend, I wish I could of helped you... I refered this guy here!!
  17. They got me for a ding in the window.. that happened on the way there... it was small and in the passenger lower corner
  18. I replaced my carb lid gasket and now I can't get it to Idle properly.. It runs better, but I can not get it to idle decent.. and or to stay Idleing.. I don't know but its starting to get to the point if someone hands me $200 its theres
  19. Took it to work today because my '81 left me stranded, started throwing a code check engine, so I decided to pull the codes and connected the black connector got a 32 on a new Oxygen sensor, so I figure I got it hooked up wrong, its a bosch splice your self, the old sensor has three wires red white and black, and my new one has black white white? Any ideas?? or should I just splice my nasty looking old one in?
