  1. also, with this gauge cluster. and new thermostat it runs up to about 195 fan kicks on and runs about 190 I know that I got a 190 thermostat but shouldn't run below halfway on the dash? or should I go with like a 160? Grr... I may have fixed a few of my issues, by makeing sure I have my plug wires with a solid connection. havn't really checked other than it idles smoother now.
  2. Hey I've got to fix my subaru. I can't figure it out I think its timing, its kinda surging a little.. Other problem is I got a set of Gauges and it says at idle that I only have 19-20 pounds Pressure? but when I accelerate it goes to 60? Is that ok>?

  5. Just recieved the $101.00 dollar ticket... because I was wearing my seatbelt under my shoulder? Due to the fact that in the 2 car accidents I was in I screwed up that shoulder, and The pain that I would be in would be much less than if I was wearing the shoulder belt. hit the windshield +2
  6. Anyone got a Ea81 Wagon Clutch pilot tool.. I'm not sure if the motor I have is any good so I'm going cheap and just puting in a disk. I need to track down a pilot tool so I can get set up.. Preferably in seattle? so I can do this here in the next few days? This is a 81 so I don't have to do emisions any more.. Is there any benefit to removing the emissions equipment? (Gas Mileage? or more performance?) if so is there a list of things to remove? X

Should I just slap a new HG in it and sell it as a runner? or should I find a shortblock? I need to get a car running, Out of all my car's I don't have a single driver.. I'm borrowing a friends suburban, and that thing is just getting out of hand with the gas money..

  16. My wagon is gonna be parked soon... and I was wondering what the best motor would be to swap...? maybe find an EJ Motor Input is appreciated.
  17. You can come get them now...; BTW CLEAN OUT YOUR MAILBOX
  18. I've had it for about a month no major problems yet.
  19. make sure to check the pita hose as it will evap any lost coolant before it hits the ground.
  20. Rebuild Motor. (new Valve Guides) a Lift. Bigger Wheels and Paint... I was thinking Digi Camo..
  21. I second That.. Cracked head. if it was a cracked case wouldn't it be leaking elswere?
  22. Pull the motor... but if you must do it in the car go to Autozone. Pick up a manual $18.99 its labeled Subaru 1600-1800 for the proper years. Get a head gasket set. Do not just get the Head Gaskets or you will have a leaky Ru when your done... But before you break into this go get yourself a Ratchet Wrench there like $8.99 Each at autozone. THIS WILL SAVE YOU A CRAP LOAD OF TIME!@ you will need a 10mm ratchet wrench and A 12 Mm Ratchet wrench. you will also need a 14MM socket for the Exhaust manifold. and Turbo.. to remove the heads you will need a 17mm socket and a breaker bar.. (You can tell I've done this a few times eh?.) I can't give you step by steps. but Go back to Step 1.5 GET A MANUAL
  23. Two Hoses to check.... Both of them spray to the top of the motor. One is the PITA hose. Located on the top of the motor from the thermostat to the top of the motor.. if its the one thats bad plan to spend a good portion of the day to figure it out. Next one would be the 90 degree hose coming from the water pump to the pipe that goes under the intake to the heater hose. That one is a pain as well but not as bad. Then check to make sure that the radiator isn't leaking and all your clamps are tight. Believe me I killed two turbo motors because of that I no longer own the car that made me fall in love with Subaru.
