  2. cool. that would be great. i just need to make sure its the one that can fit the 71. can you snap a picture? i need to look at the thread to see exactly which intake i need.
  3. i have a weber. it needs a partial if not a full rebuild.rebuild kit included. I would like to trade for a ea-81 intake manifold (the type that can be modified to fit an ea-71) i live in Texas and its hard to find these parts. email me if your intrested danrenfroe2016@gmail.com -Daniel

  8. OK! it lives! now on to the wrx style exhaust.
  9. Yes I have seen one of royal its pretty nice. We need to put a thread on here calling all the DFW guys again to see if there are any new ones I may stop by that guys house at Royal and leave a note or something on his windshield that is real close to where I work.
  10. ok, used my dremmell with a diamond bit to make very small holes around the ez out, spend about 45 min messing around and got the thing to come out. then i got a cobault bit and a masonry bit from home depot, kept switching back and forth between the bits and used lots of cutting oil, about 1 hour later i have a hole that is 5/16" dia. x 1/2" deep.I guess i need to get a helicoil, I hope they work in such a shallow hole. I will try one Monday. Thanks for all the tips and motivation to attack it! I was just so frustraited and pissed!
  11. Eric, I think I will give this a shot, also the masonry bit sounds interesting as they are very hard. I already have a extra intake manifold, but i really don't want to take out any more bolts! I have a map gas torch. I will try on Saturday. Thanks for the Tips... Daniel
  12. Yes, That's me. Were do you live? I want to see your brat some day. There are about 5 of us in Dallas now...
  13. yes I have noticed the flex. I will look in to it. now about my broken bolt...
  14. OK. I Know you guys are going to beat me for this one. But I broke the lower thermostat housing bolt, then stupidly used an ez out which broke in hole. now I have a super hard steel ez out and a really stuck bolt end. :-( what should I do? Am I screwed? I am so pissed, I was thinking about just bolting back on with the top bolt only. but I bet it would leak!!! (so close , yet so far on getting the brat back running)
  15. OK, meight as well bring this up. My Key is stuck in the ignition... been this way over a year and I drive almost everyday so i am afread to wongleflute with it. any thoughts? can the cylinder be removed with the key inside? Thanks. -Daniel
  16. If you look at my Brat Thread there is some info on wheels. I run 14" PUGs with a cheap tires. only problemm in going bigger is the rear suspension setup. After I go solid axle in the rear wont be a problem. Also dont go to far out from the stock offset or wheel bearings will suffer. Please update the thread as I want to see how it turns out.
  17. What does it run in the Quarter? I am curious...
  18. Ok, I think when the pedal is up (Cluch engaged) the cable is getting bent a bit to much. I will re-adjust and try the new cable when it comes. and yes... AUTOZONE! Oh and I will lube it good this time. -Daniel
  19. Clutch cable. I have broken two now. I do drive my brat everyday, but two clutch cables in less than 5 years is kinda crazy. I just replaced the clutch, pilot, plate, had the flywheel ground (two step). I get it all back together and then snap! another clutch cable gone. this time it broke at the top near where it attaches to the pedal. Any Ideas? -Daniel
  20. Is this thread still alive? I could pull it for you. Todd, What yard and where? -Daniel
