Who's Brat is this?
I ran across this on Flickr, http://www.flickr.com/photos/27473181@N06/3511326771/ Awesome Brat... I wanted to ask him what Size tires he runs, as they are 14" PUG rims just like mine. -Daniel

Me offroading a while back at railhead bnsf owned land
Ya, That is kinda far... I have found some interesting spots in grand prairie and north Dallas, All of them are access roads and such for TXU Energy, They are fun when muddy, But very little chance of getting stuck with a subaru as the trails are pretty packed down. I usually Go alone or with One friend. So I try not to get stuck. Everyone I know is not into off roading... -Daniel

weigh in on the new 2010 Legacy....
danrenfroe2016 replied to bgambino's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYa, My dad has a 2002 Outback and a new 2009 Forester, We havent driven the new 2010 outback, but there is a big (I mean its huge inside) difference from the 2002 to the 2009 Forester... We noticed the same thing, the 2002 feels like a race car compared to the new Forester, we are going to get some much stiffer sway bars for the Forester, this should clean it up... Its odd that all the new models are taking the fun out of the steering / handling. Overall though the New Forester is a much better car than the 2002. We are planning on getting a Diesel Outback (If it ever comes to the USA) -Daniel

What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
This Saturday, Took the Exhaust off of the new parts car, (Had a Very good Y pipe, but was broke beyond,) Took off my very leaky y pipe and exhaust setup and put on the Y pipe, Then had the local muffler shop weld up an Old magna-Flow muffler I allready had, (was last on a 5.7L) the muffler Shop did an excellent job, Got the muffler mounted up inside the stock area and got it real close to the drive shaft so I should'nt knock it off during offroading. (He was very good!!!) And the Car Sounds awsome, Especially during hard acceleration. No more Lawnmower Sound from the Leaking Y Pipe, Also seams to run with a load much smoother. I didnt realize how much the y pipe was leaking and how much it affects the engine, One of the plates that bolts to the head could just spin in place!!!!!!! -Daniel

New BRAT owner networking
Tim, Ok, here is the pictures: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=34978&id=1344730058&l=e166a41222 The Drivers seat is the one with the Slide rails removed. I bolted the two long rods under the seat directly to the new rails I made from angle. I left the slide rails on the Passenger seat as it has this giant airbag switch in the seat and would not fit properly with the slide rails removed. Its not as hard as it looks, Also you will have to redrill the holes for the inside rear seat mount as they are about 1" off of the stock location. The outside rear mount on the drivers is bolted to stock location, the passanger outside rear is not bolted to the floor at all but is sitting on a wood block I bolted it to the seat mount... Also, take off the seat belt receivers from the old seats as they dont fit the older style buckles. (i forgot to take one off) Oh, and its much easier than it looks, did the whole install with a sazsaw and a drill. -Daniel

New BRAT owner networking
I'll take some here in a bit, It was actually really easy, Only thing is if your tall you might have to take out the head liner, I am 6'-2" and it works fine with no head liner, and all the Seat adjustments removed from the bottom of the impreza seats. So you have mount it with the seat in the correct position. -Daniel

Prototype? have no idea. But its Been sitting forever. The bottom of the car is all rusty! my 80 brat had no rust like this... Also, I have no way of confirming its a '77. Somebody spray painted the inside black as well... Ya I am going to install the Roll bar in my brat, along with the front struts, But will have to move my Ammo boxes over (major pain!) -Daniel

I am so glad to get another brat... Its pretty bad... has 38,000 miles on it though. Is very rusted as it was sitting in a Field Hasn't been registered since 1990 I think..., I don't think they used window stickers in 1980 in texas... Pictures: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=34798&id=1344730058&l=5a012bd8d3 -Daniel P.S. One question... Why does it have two Ignitions? One says cooler? Also There is a key switch in the Drivers fender between the front wheel well and the Edge of the front door??????

Tuning Ea71 with hitachi carb - No timing marks...
Ya, I think we are going to do that as well. haha May end up need another weekend, as I think that One or both of my Head gaskets leak just a little. Oh also... Do you recommend trying to re torque the heads? Or is it a waste of time and better to just pull the engine and completely Replace the head gaskets?????? Thanks. -Daniel
