  2. brands like beck arnley and clevite are often OEM parts re-boxed Xpert, email me - i know of a beck dealer in Pa who only deals with imports
  3. deisel justy availible in europe do a search for it
  4. so i have an 87 XT with like zero body rust as you can see if you check out the pics below. im beginning to wonder about this car after i talked to a guy who had it in his family for a while. he admitted to running the sh*t out of this car and never storing it in a garage. as everybody knows on the east we use this road salt in the winter which is basically the anti-subaru. while it does have a hole or 2 on the frame rails, theres no visible rust anywhere that wasnt chipped by a stone or something similar. i know subaru didnt have galvanized bodys back then so would there be another explanation? anyways to fend it off? because you know that now that i own it now the rust gods will reign holy hell on my ride. if anyone has any suggestions please speak up pics of the car are located here: Dennis' 1987 Subaru XT Turbo
  5. more work? if you have the space just store it until you can get to it man...congratulations. wheres paul on this one? flowmaster, save that **** for Iclub dude
  6. paul its not the only reason its not making the trip ill send you an email about it...
  7. haha i was wondering what that smell was - and if it had anything to with dumping the clutch at 5 grand. it sucks that the RX wont make this trip, im kinda wishing i could bring it but by the time the meet rolls around itll have expired stickers on it and itll no longer be insured until i fix somethings... but ill have the XT with me, the Xpert came by work today and saw it.
  8. we should get tshirts made up... "i sunk my car at pine barrens" - itll be like a club and EJ, Bruce with the green brat, and the creep with the XT6 from way back can be the presidents
  9. i know for a fact its photoshopped... first there were no real STIs back when XT6s (alcyones) were produced (88-91)...however STI made its debut in 1988 but was using its technology for the legacy which made its endurance run in 1989...that division of subaru was not what it is today. the wheels are obviously optional WRX BBS's from the 2001-2002 model line and the parking lights and rear tire are obviously made up. and a few years ago when i was on the XT6 yahoo site, someone designed it saying something like "heres what my car will look like" or something to that extent. fabbed - pretty good i might add
  10. the bottom end in EA motors could handle 8 grand all day long - but its not fuel effiecient. in short they were made to be beat on
  11. that pic is photo shopped...
  12. hey DJ keep me posted on your progress...my car (still a work in progress) is set up similar to what youre attempting, pretty interesting... the biggest bore pistons subaru sells for EA82ts is .050 over but i totally forget if theyre availible forged or not, i believe they are but you have to request them specifically. about the turbo, the one on my XT installed by the previous owner is a VF10/11 from a 2.2l legacy with WRX exhaust there after. its a tight squeeze, and the converters sit a little lower then id like, but the sound is awesome and theres so many different ways you could go aftermarket if you went with this set up. plus its a nice upgrade from stock, and so many people on iclub are ditching the stock systems for aftermarket... hot cams are availible from a company called paeco i think, they have a website...just do a search and you should come up with it. my car is in a wierd "pre-tuned stage" right now. its very fast, yet reliable but there are a bunch of things that need to be squared away to make it a true runner. im having a weak spark issue, and this is with a monster blaster 2 coil from MSD, i need an A/F gauge installed badly and some suitable wheels to go with the 5 lug hub swap. feel free to email if you wanna shoot the proverbial bull
  13. the meeting place is in atison, nj goto mapquest and type in "the intersection of route 70 and 206" and look at the map. the diner were gathering at is in that circle.
  14. no vacuum advance on hotwire MAF'd MPFI cars
  15. nope, no MSD thats probably one thing on this car that hinders performance more than anything. when you check the spark its yellowish instead of glowing blue...if one were to put a 6AL unit on it, you could probably hear the plugs sparking from across the garage, brian did say he had one on it. id love to be able to come up with one to put on the car but i dont know how it would react (i.e. anti knock as you say) so stay close to stock? over or under?
  16. the car is an 87 XT Turbo, intercooled and running about 14.5psi out of a legacy turbocharger... on full boost im getting pretty consistent ping at about 14psi but im using 93 at the pump and nothing less. yes, the car runs rich and the plugs in it now are soaked with gas... the timing is already retarded 12 degrees to compensate for the increase in boost, any idea what i should gap the plugs at? should i go less then stock or stay at OEM reccomendation?
  17. haha..you know it save your passenger seat for me homeboy...the XT wont get much farther then the dirt parking lot as low as it rides, and the RX aint inspected at the moment.
  18. boz... im not 100 percent sure what youre trying to get at...are you looking to do a 5spd swap? i think with the axle splines on your CVs you could get a trans out of anything, assuming its the same ratio as the rear end on your car.
  19. you have to find the RX before you can steal **** off of it
  20. hey guys... its time to do the PB run before winter takes hold of the east. tentative date right now is october 25th, 2003 in atison, nj at wharton state park. we'll meet at 9am at the red lion diner at the 70 and 206 circle to eat, then we'll hit the trails. lets hope isabelle reigns holy hell on the pine lands so we have plenty of mud to forge thru. if this date is bad, lets reschedule...post here and let me know. just a heads up for any new guys: pine barrens and the atco access roads are full of dirt, sand, water, pebbles and rough roads - but its not too treacherous, just dont bring a subaru you wouldnt want scratched. lift kits are not necessary, matter of fact - the guys with lifts are the only guys who get stuck. plenty of subarus have been thru these trails but you MUST have a 4WD/AWD vehicle if you plan to make it thru. lets see a show of hands... so far: myself EJ svxpert moose kecksnext pbdloyale hocrest skip trogdor benebob maybe: rallykeith jack by the sea
  21. paul... im going to open a thread in the main old gen forum about this. id like to do it october 25th... if people start to disagree, we can move it to another date...check the other forum, ill post now
  22. start posting good weekends and bad weekends now guys... as long as its a saturday im cool with it, wont be doing any mudding in the XT though - but ill still be there.
  23. way fun guys...good to meet you jay just checked those pics out, theres one of me and it appears that im getting my doors blown off by that WRX. half way down the track i caught him, shifted to 3rd, and began hydro-planing and almost died a horrible death... then i got back in line and ran again
