September 16, 200916 yr I bought the good old GR2s and some springs from an 01 RS imp. I originally just wanted to lower the front a little and didn't intend to use the rears. They're so easy to swap, I figured I'd try the RS springs in the rear to see what would happen. Can't say I remember anyone trying the set up on a wagon. It lowered the front a little more than the rear, leveled it out nicely. It handles like a dream now. The shape of the road is all I feel, without it being too stiff that it's uncomfortable. Here's before. Here's after. (and after a romp on some gravel roads and half way thru a 140 mile round trip on the highway to feel it out some.)
September 16, 200916 yr Looks good! I recently put new monroe shocks on my imp and sadly they didn't seem to do anything?! I was hoping to get a smoother, less harsh ride with the new shocks but honestly, I couldn't feel a difference between the old worn out strut shocks and the new Monroes. :-\ My imp has 190k so maybe my original springs are weak and causing the harsh ride? September 16, 200916 yr ^ most of us don't go the monroe route, we go the KYB route for sake of everything.... ^^thats a nice silver, think you are looking good there.
September 16, 200916 yr Author I chose the GR2s cuz they're super cheap. $259 shipped for all four. The ride it had wasn't all that bad, but it was getting a little sloppy on the highway. No more. Now very tite. The GR2s are 30% stiffer than a stock RS strut.

There is for a WOW factor , with the car and the background. Were the shocks really easy to change ? I spoke to someone , and it should be possible with a complete rear swap.. I think . And again nice pic's:) Edited September 17, 200916 yr by Zap
September 17, 200916 yr Author Struts are very easy to change. 15 minutes a corner tops. But I also swapped out the springs on each corner. That adds <15 minutes a corner.
