another hicrappy thread.. fixed

Featured Replies

well Junky finally started tellin me that its hicrappy carb needs to hit a dumpster..

anywhere past 3k rpms she pops out of the carb.. and looses any and all power it might have had..

at first i thought it was the coil wire shorting out cause it wasn't tight fitting around the coil.. so i changed that and still didn't fix it..

guess i need to spring for a weber at some point.. Junky might not make it much longer with that hicrappy on there..

Fuel filter underneath the car: worth the five bucks to see if that's the problem.

repolaced the one under the hood once.. bought both of them this time, going to swap them.. if problem is still there its gettin a weber.. lol its running so bad now it won't do over 40 mph..

forgot to mention the gas mileage dropped by about 20 mpg as well... so its sucking gas..

pull the egr off and see how it looks ihad one do that to me and the egr was all plugged up with cr**

that and you got to teach the junky to stop be ungreatful for saving it from the crusher

well it had nothing to do with fuel, or the carb..

i swapped the coil with my accel coil off the RX.. made the problem worse, although it had a consistant miss now.. so i started pullin wires one at a time to find out that #1 was the cylinder missing..

so i pulled the plug.. nothing outa the normal, maybe a little lean..

so i swapped the plug wire with one from the other hatch and whala.. just like new.. actually runs better than it did before..

Amazing how it's always the little things (buy the weber anyway).
