Car is the 94 loyale with 1.8 Ea82. I think its right next to the thermostat. Right or wrong? Its a little black box looking thing with the vacuum hoses coming from the Egr and one going out to the intake i believe. Crossing fingers this is it. I pulled my codes finally, and i have the good old 32 code and 55. Oxygen sensor and the EGR temp sensor. I have another part car sitting around and will switch the sensor over if im right. Thanks for reading.

Side note, i will be replacing my belts this weekend, my harmonic balancer (crank pulley?) Is "wobbly". Is this a big issue? If so how to remove easily? I tried an impact gun on it and no budging. Thanks again:drunk:

Bump! just need to know how to get the crank pulley bolt loosened. Its siezed on there.

If I remember right I wedged a board between the flywheel and the bell housing through the timing window. Try using a breaker bar or a stronger impact. Reverse threads?

Hi, if it is a manual trans, put it in gear and set the handbrakes, that should hold it , then use a big handle on the socket, 2ft or 30inch , or use a long cheater pipe on the handle.

To get your crank bolt loose, take a long breaker bar with the proper socket, then make sure the breaker bar is touching the ground on the drivers side, and just give the starter a quick jolt, and that will loosen the bolt easy as pie. Ask another person is you feel. Many do it this way, sometimes an impact won't do it.

the starter trick is the only way to go! Done that 1000's of times and it works every time. Just make sure you have the breaker bar on point of rotation (drivers side down to ground) or it'll throw that breaker bar about 50 feet in the air lol

that is the EGR solenoid, not the EGR temp sensor.

 

EGR temp sensor should be threaded into the base of the EGR valve if you have one. Should only be on Cali model cars.

 

You may be able to Ground/unGround a pin of the ECU to make it a *federal* model ECU, then it won't car about the EGR temp.

 

Heck, you may have the wrong ECU in there, doubt it, but who knows.
