October 16, 200916 yr I have done them on vws but the Subaru has no bolts, mabye just a pin at the transaxle anyone give me driections on removing them and intalling them at the trans my book says to go to a dealer
October 16, 200916 yr It's a 6mm roll-pin. Most of us use 3/16" pin punches to remove them although Snap-On (at least) sells a 6mm roll-pin punch in an extended length version just for Subaru's. The transmission end is the easy part. It's getting them out of the bearings in the knuckle that's the trick. Run a search here on this section of the forum for "axle replacement" - you have some reading to do. GD
October 16, 200916 yr Yeah... compared to doing them on a VW the subaru's are easy to disconnect from the transmission. Just remove the roll pin and slide them off the stub. It's getting them back through the hub that's the pain.... Z
