Denver junkyards with 80s Subarus?

Currently, CAP has a million of the C4C vehicles, but they ditched all the EAs and such to make room for them. So what other junkyards in the area normally carry these cars?

IIRC, there's a place that specializes in Subaru parts, old and new, in the Denver area called S-Wing's Stuff.

 

I've purchased parts for my '83 from them, good guys to work with.

Superrupair in Boulder still has some EA parts in storage, but they've shifted mostly to the EJ cars in the last three or four years :(

Oh.... of the 10 vehicles I have, NONE of them get bad enough gas mileage to qualify :rolleyes:

Colorado auto Recycling has a few of them in the 80's range. didnt see anything older than '85 though.

Have you been there recently though? I was there a few weeks ago, and the oldest they had was a Legacy(maybe a Loyale too). CAP is the yard I frequent the most.

I swung by there today. They are starting to get the EAs back in stock. Had a few Loyales, an early 80s coupe, and ~83/84 wagon or two. They still have a million of the C4C trucks though. Almost the entire left side of the lot as you enter is trucks now!

U pull and pay has a place in Co Springs as well.

What's the easiest way to pull a junkyard trans? Remove the engine/trans together with one of the A-frame hoists? Or drop just the trans from underneath?

Drop the trans from down unda. Pull the torn up seat out of the car and slide it under the transmission and drop the trans onto that, crude and fast style. last bolts you remove are the crossmember bolts. everything else first. let me know what else you see at that jy.

I found 3 cars with D/R 5 speeds today. Quite a few EA82s, and a couple EA81s there.

Are the brat seats complete in the picture? Or do they look like they are missing parts? Basically, are they worth grabbing or not?

Brat seats are almost always worth grabbing. Hard to tell from the pics how complete they are, often times the pistol grips are cut off of them because you can't squeeze much more than a child's rump roast between them. Even so, the plastic seats in good condition are almost always worth grabbing as well as those headrests, and be sure to grab them complete with the sliders. From the pics it looks like there is no longer a mounting frame for the seats welded to the bed. Whenever you find rear seatbelts for a brat, they are worth getting.

 

When I say this stuff is worth getting, I mean they are rare enough you can always unload them for a more than you paid. You won't get rich, but these parts are easy to remove and as a subaru fanatic I actually enjoy saving these parts from being crushed.

The blue one is a wagon. I don't think any of them were spectacular inside or out though. A few were not bad as I recall, but I didn't take great notice of them.
