I noticed that there are 2 different designs on the dogbones. One with thick plastic, others with metal rod.

Anyone know whick one is better to observe shock?

The metal ones ive only seen on outbacks. The metal and plastic are different lengths, about an inch different. I think the metal one is longer.

I've never seen a plastic one.

There are two different ones, I never noticed a difference in length though. I know I've interchanged them and it didn't make a difference. Most of the metal ones are on the manuals, and plastic on the automatics. I wouldn't worry though about which absorbs shock better. Who knows, It's nothing you're ever going to feel.

Haha, yep! I'm not positive if they belong to different trannys for sure. It's just a trend I've been noticing

Plastic most likely due to mfg cost,weight etc.
