  1. Hey Bill, Ive got a fella intersested in a subaru conversion in his toyota rock crawler. Whats the best way to steer him your way for info/pricing etc other that these 50 plus pages?
  2. That thing is Killer Dave! While watching the video all I could do was smile and think to myself holy crap!
  3. No sir, The wrx pedal box as the ea82 pedal box mounts to the brake booster mounting studs inside the car ( exact same bolt pattern ) and the template as crude as it looks was layed out with the wrx pedal box and clutch master cyl mount bracket on the pedal box. I then from inside the car put the template on the brake booster mounting studs and pilot drilled the clutch master cyl holes from inside the car with an 1/8th inch drill bit, then finished drilling the holes for the clutch master cyl from under the hood. IIRC the hole for the clutch master cyl body was about 5/8 or 3/4 inch in diameter done with a step drill, or unibit...works out sweet! My wagon was an auto but it doesnt matter as far as using your ea82 acc pedal portion of your original pedal box, just cut it off as shown in the pics. I used a 4" angle grinder but a hacksaw would do the job just as well. I bought my wrx pedal box off of NASIOC from a guy parting an '07 wagon IIRC
  4. lol! ( i just ran across this today ) Thanks!
  5. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=112285&page=5&highlight=T%27sunami Check this out, you need a pedal box out of a wrx ( should be easy to find ) and do the mods I did. The acc pedal is seperate on the wrx's, dont mess with it, just use your ea82 pedal.
  6. ive got one you can check out. my travels weekly are from Westport to Everett during the work week and im working in the Seattle downtown area mostly. too late this weekend, but if you pm me ill haul it next week or whenever.

  8. I did a vehicle trade last month. I traded this for this Its an '88 eddie bauer edition, efi 351 auto. I replaced the tailgate glass and wiring along with a new starter and battery. I just received upper and lower ball joints from rockauto. It runs great and should drive fine once they are installed. This is where it all gets strange. The guy removed the bed from my traded toyota by hand and with the help of a hatchet:confused: Me trying to be a nice guy and help him out built a flatbed for him with what ever wood I had kicking around. The new owner followed my efforts up with a custom paint job. And the interior was painted to match too:grin: To top it all off he just gave it back to me yesterday. Hes leaving town and cant take it with him:-\ I guess Ill sell it and send him some money....
  9. Thanks Bennie, Progress has been very slow since last summer. Mainly time and money issues along with some other projects mixed in. I plan on installing the harness without pulling the dash, the pics are of my tie-ins and all the unnecessary wiring I cut out of the wagon. Ive currently got the engine on a stand while replacing pumps, timing components and resealing. Once its installed Ill continue with the harness install. Im also in the process of tweaking some of my lift components too. Ill be updating soon once I make some major progress.
  10. I wont have the engine installed until later this summer so I cant answer your clearance question yet. I purchased mine from performance rad, it has a 5/8 core as well. riv nut tools are awesome:)
  11. Heres what I did to run an ej radiator. Cooling fans will have to be in front of the radiator. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=112285&highlight=T%27sunami+Wagon&page=6
  12. My turbo wagon lifted also, and my xt6 really lifts while shifting at high rpms. Ive seem anti lift stuff offered up for wrx's, I wonder if its just part of having subaru awd ? I know nothing of anything older than an ea82 though.
  13. haha, Ive got too many old school subi's, 7 subi's atm and im hoping to thin that heard down this year. My Westy Vanagon is an aircooled and I had the engine rebuilt about 3 years ago...and got it running today! I have an ej22 conversion sitting here, I may convert this one once I use up the aircooled or bide my time for a worn out water cooled at a cheap price:)
  14. haha, yep. Im working on it currently and its driving me nutz!
  15. Thats an interesting idea. Im currently considering modding the f & r strut tops to 5" and running with the rest of the 4" lift components. Heres a pic of my kift kit...Boss Bill definatly builds quality stuff, all 1/4" steel and the rear K member components im definatly impressed with.
  16. ea82 and xt6 calipers are same same.
  17. heres a link to an '89 ea82 fsm that covers carbie cars its an aviation site so id doesnt cover the whole car but it should help out http://www.ch601.org/engines.htm
  18. darn, I was going to hook you up with all the goods but my 89 fsm doesnt cover carbie cars. I wasnt aware they had carbs as late as 88.
  19. http://www.ch601.org/engines.htm ea81 fsm can be downloaded here
  20. spfi or mpfi ? I can send you the fsm diagrams
  21. Thanks Josh, I dont think ill be going any larger than 27" but while im replacing most of the lift blocks anyway....something to definatly consider.
  22. Im on a mission to finish up my wagon this summer but could use some input on a couple of things. Im building a hybrid of sorts, going for the offroad look but wanting scarry fast on the street for a 22 year old wagon. EJ20G with wrx drivetrain, vlsd, waic etc along with xt6 f&r swaybars and 27" tires. I bought a "boss" lift, its all 4" everywhere except the rear struts wiich are 6". Im thinking I could have the front strut tops cut and sleeved to 6" and replace the x member, rear diff, rear sub frame etc with 5" stuff and figure out what I need for the xt6 trans x member blocks once its all installed. At what lift in inches do I need to extend the length of my rods 1" ? Ive read about this but dont have a grip on what im trying to achieve. I know what I want, a good handling wagon at speed on the freeways( 70 to 90 mph ), I have an ej22 conversion set up for off road when I locate a nice ea82 wagon but this one I want to handle well at speed.
