Ill give ya that:grin: And my ea82 wagon didnt come with something near 240 whp but its getting it, sometimes to get to where your going you need to think outside the box Ive read that they could be built but there would need to be a large number of people willing to spend alot of $'s. A commercialy available locker for the r160 would be sweet though

Um....not according to the title of this thread...and to be honest I didnt read the entire thread before posting as I know that lockers dont exist for the r160's
  5. Pulled an '87 Rx over to the carport, its motor gets pulled and installed in an '86 gl-10 that will be up for sale soon:) When this sells and im finished with 2 current ej conversions...no more ea82t cars:banana:
  6. ecu terminal #9 Wb per '90 fsm ea82 series, looks like they are grounded and get 12v to energize plug E9, section 2.7 page 49 88 xt6 fsm, looks like they are the same xt6 to ea82 pin out wise and plug numbers. I hope this helps Gary
  7. I have an '86 gl-10 sedan that im going to start working on, its rear seats fold down.
  8. I believe the ej is approx 2" longer than the ea d/r. Does your '86 hatch use the same driveline layout as the ea82's? I have both transmissions if measurments would help, and also a shortened front drive line for an ej 5 speed in an ea.

Its been awhile since ive chased air locker info but iirc ARB makes an air locker for the r200 diffs, not inexpensive and a difficult mod to a subi heres the set up, arb is in Au http://www.4x4groupbuy.com/store/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=r200 some of the better info I ran into on the r series diffs http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?showtopic=49194
  10. okie, ill give ya " 3 door coupe "
  11. so I guess ive got 2 rx coupes instead of hatches
  12. sweet If you havnt named her yet how 'bout Spodie
  13. Thanks, im confident enough to finish up the harness well before the engines ready to drop in...I just hope momma didnt raise any dummies:eek:
  14. I have the full '90 fsm and wiring diagrams for the 4eat, im using it to pull all of my wiring, would any of this help? I didnt read the full thread to see what your donor was.
  15. I have been told that the hla noise can be attributed to oil deposits with age and can be fixed by enlarging the oil gallies in the head to the hla's, but higher flow there can rob other areas so you install a high volume sti oil pump....rumored to be developed for the rally guys, has 3 pickup tubes unstead of 1...thats about all i know until i check into it good luck with it
  16. http://ken-gilbert.com/impreza-manuals An awesome site with alot of factory service manuals for impreza's
  17. pm your e mail and ill scan and send, it wouldnt be until this evening or tomorrow morning.
  18. My wagon is getting a '93 ej20g. Ive been told that Subaru swapped out heads and pistons for ones used in the wrx ej205 to eliminate hla noise under warranty in the market areas that got this engine around '94....have a good sound system? Ive also heard of a fix allowing more oil flow thru the heads to the hlas and a high volume oil pump, still getting details.
  19. Ive been studying here for almost 2 years..what could possibly go wrong?
  20. I have a Boss kit, 4" front strut tops, engine x member, radius rod mounts, center bearing, rear subframe and rear strut tops, well I had 6" rear strut brackets but bought your 4" due to my running hybrid axles. I assumed the trans x members would be the same. The wagon was a 4eat and had only the rear x member, but going ej on the trans and with the lift kit supplied my front x member lands on a 4" lift block. I should mention this is my first lift and ej conversion so im learning as I go, and I made 4" blocks for the rear trans x member but im sure the angles would eat u joints.
  21. Got the old girl ready for her donor harness. Ive removed everything that I wont be needing except the 4eat wiring and thats next. This is my first subi mod project, yes im a newb:grin:, and I found the wiring pretty intimidating at first but now im looking forward to the next project, just need to get this on on the road first:banana: Can you say "sti halfcut?":)
  22. wiki has a pretty good sized write up on the subi 5mts if you havnt ran across that yet
  23. Hi Guys, What ive got is an ea82 wagon with a 4" lift. Ive installed an ej 5 speed using xt6 f & r crossmembers with an ej center section. 4" blocks arent correct at all points as my tail shaft points slightly downwards with the tranny resting on the engine cross member and will only get worse once the engines installed. I could figure this out with the engine in but im probably a month or two away from that so my question is if anyone knows the math from engine crossmember to rear trans crossmember with this setup? Thanks
