I think that is a go, use all the wiring from your rx on the doner motor, probably should use the complete intake assembly, and any accessories, and the rx distributor just to be safe on compatability. do the rear main and the rear vent cover gasket so you don't have to go back in. don't forget the water hose under the turbo, its a real pain to do later. mount the turbo up on the motor, all the pipes hoses and all and install in car all assembled. might need to have the down pipe loose to aid in some jiggle room.
April 13, 201015 yr Pretty sure they are the same car, just with a different name. I don't really know with an RS, but I think it's just a rebranded RX. Have fun!
April 13, 201015 yr Im not sure but wasnt there a 3 plug ecu in the mid or so 80's that became a 4 plug in '89??

April 13, 201015 yr Use the RX manifold, wireing and distributor, and the Loyale long block. The engines are the same even if the wireing changed a bit - sometimes they changed connectors on stuff. Just to be safe I would strip the donor to the long block - gives you a chance to clean it up and overall it's less work that way. GD
April 13, 201015 yr What GD said. Use the manifold from the car that's getting the newer engine. That way you won't have to swap the wiring harness or ECU from the Loyale into the RX.
