Thanks everyone, this is my 1st suby, I'm learning as I go, I know they have long life engines and I hope I can get mine going well enough to make it worth it!!! car has 260,000 miles on it, engine is a replacement I'm sure, it needs work but it's fun to stump-jump....when it runs

What makes you think the car has a new engine at 260K, its a subaru :)

(my 88 GL had 222k, my other 88 had 240k I think, my 86 had 235 maybe, and all just had to be resealed, but the longblock was just fine)

Ha! 260k is nothing.

It just needs a reseal and it'll go another 260k.

Stump jumping is what these cars were made for :-p

What else are you supposed to do with a car with 4 wheel drive?
