EA 81 / 82 Motor Mounts?

Featured Replies

Anyone swapped one for the other. One of the mounts on the 83 Brat is hosed, and I'm finding it impossible to find EA 81 mounts. I have found some EA 82s and I've read that they might fit. Anyone had any experience with this problem / solution???

I had to use EA82 mounts on my EA81. They aren't the same, but if you cut and re weld them the work. I can't remember the exact spot they need to be cut but I know it is possible, and it does work great

You will see if you try to bolt them onto the motor how they don't quite bolt on, and then you can tell where the need to be cut, and modified

Try RockAuto.Com

Its pretty popular and reliable and they should have the part you need. I got one for my old 83 Wagon.

You even get a neat little refrigerator magnet.

one end of the mount bolts on, but the other end is flat on the ea82 mount, and the ea81 is bent at an angle to bolt up. or the other way around. it has been 10 years since i did such a thing, but i remember something like that one way or the other

Dam Miles... You know whats up... You helped me.. my subie is almost ready for a lift.... lol:eek:

try 3m window weld. its black uruthane. You have to use a calking gun to apply it,and it HAS TO BE WARM.like leave the container in hot water for like 30 minutes.

just use that and glue your mount back together.let it dry for a day minimum (2-4 days is ideal). All said and done it should hold for about a year or so.More if you arnt heavy on the throttle at all times...

Well... So much for that idea!!

I found motor mounts on RockAuto for your 1983 Brat for like 12-13 bucks or I think it was like 34.95 for both sets?

I used them before, I might still have one of my motor mounts for my 83 wagon, but I dont know if that would work, I bought two and I really only needed one.

I'm parting out my 81 Brat. I know where the mounts are, do they bolt onto the frame or are welded? (Not looked at them aside from unbolting the engine.)

Well, I ended up finding them at RockAuto. They were $34 each. I somehow screwed up the search the first time.

But thanks for the offers guy. Appreciate it.

34.95 each? Are you sure? That seems awfully high for just one of them when the other ones (including one I bought) were like 12 bucks.
