Okay they guy i bought this from ran into a fence post that was pretty solid , nothing major, it just knocked the left side of the bumper (from the front veiw) in an inch or two, and bent in that lining that goes under the head light, i had to get a used fender cause of the damage, but anyway, heres pics

 

 

im planning on picking up a new head light lense and the metal lining peice, but i cant unless the bumpers fixed cause the pieces wouldn't fit right with the bent side,would like to know is there any way to take this bumper off and fix it the way its bent in? or do i have to go to the U-pull yard and get a new one? any help would be great, thanks!

Yes, you Can't due to the Fact that the Whole Headlamp is a one piece unit, No disassemble is Possible.

About Fixing the Bumper... Have you ever Tried the FiberGlass?

Thank you, unfortunately I dont have access to fiberglass at the moment or i would make the bumper cooler looking and paint it red, the bumper itself is okay, its just that it is pushed in on that side, so im thinking the metal peice the bumper bolts on to the car with, is pushed in, and or bent, i tried taking the peice that covers the Styrofoam stuff it off but the screws are too tight:dead: and i cant seem to get the body work off to even locate where the bumper bolts to the car. i dont have much experience with body work, so im not sure what to do at this point, sorry for the long post.

Can you not see the bumper bolts? It should bolt to the frame somewhere...

Ah i know some help would be awesome about now, i have an idea, tomorrow i will take off the fender, maybe take off the headlight lens assembly and see if there is any body damage, maybe i can pound it out, or ill i have to replace the fender, i am very unfamiliar with body work, the previous owner mistreated this car alot.:-\ but im hoping for the best! will update again tomorrow, thanks!

The Whole Front Bumper only has Four Screws that Attach it to the Car's Frame, Two each side. Just Look the Side of the Frame that Faces each engine Head's Cover and you'll find Two Holes each side.

 

if you unbolt those Screws, be sure to Disconnect each side Marker Light on the Bumper Before Sliding it out.

I have that exact bumper laying around in my garage - it's useless to me. No dings in it. But does need a new skin.

 

Do you need the metal bumper?

unfortunately a new bumper wont solve the problem,:-\ there is lost of bent metal behind the headlight and fender, the headlight needs to be replaced it has an open hole:horse: and the damage goes further back where u cant see in the pics, have to ghetto rig it all to get the fender to fit properly, almost seems like if i took the bumper off, it wouldnt go back on unless i knew how to fix the damage done by the accident, looks like i will have to save up, and have some body work done:dead:

Does look pretty nasty.

The bumper bolts come from inside the engine bay as 2.7 turbo said. Two are under the overhang of the battery tray. They go in sideways, and are a pain to take out because the wiring harness runs right in front of them and radiator is in the way as well as the A/C lines. A flex head ratchet helps as does different depth sockets and extensions and a ratcheting wrench.

 

Do not try to undo the nuts on the bumper bracket that you can see if you pull the fender liner out, they are welded to the bumper bracket.

 

If you get another bumper, try for a 85-86 mayby 87 bumper. They are much shorter because they don't have the 5mph impact rated foam block in between the bumper and the plastic skin. That makes the turn signals flush with the face of the bumper so they show much better, and it takes away the fat lip look.

 

Get the new parts, take the old parts off, and test fit the new ones. Do some hammering to straighten things out enough for the new parts to bolt on. That hit doesn't look hard enough to need professional body work.

Thankyou for the aadvice, i will be sure to have extended sockets etc. the fender and lining do need replacing, so the older bumper will actually bolt on like the one on there will? i get confused with body work. thats one of the things i have no experience with. But, i can get the parts from the local u pull yard fairly cheap if it can fit cause i need to replace the headlight assembly wich il be getting from u pull it also.
