September 10, 201114 yr Wife came across a Limited Edition Brat in her travels.. Anyone have info on what is different about them? Looks like a Gen 2 DL but other than the hood, whats left of the grille, and chrome stripe down the side, I can't tell anything different from her pictures.. She says the tailgate claims to be a GL but I would guess its not original.
September 10, 201114 yr no. srry. the front grille fenders and side markers are for a 82 but the bumper is not a 82. that is not a good description the front grille is a juke. It IS a GL, cause it has funtops. I can sell you a 76 US Brat or a 89 US BRAT if you want...lo Edited September 10, 201114 yr by bheinen74
September 11, 201114 yr Ya... probably an 82GL that got hit in the front. Therefore the new bumper and ghetto grille. And the drivers side side-marker looks more like an 80-81ish model.... like its for round headlights or something... Not sure what they were thinking with the chrome junk on the hood
September 11, 201114 yr Let's see Rear view mirrors are '83 or younger. As Flowmastered pointed out the passenger side markers are '82 and the drivers are '80-'81 hatch or wagon. Did Brats ever come with those superfluous hood vent thingys...I say definitely limited edition custom deluxe. I don't think the earliest '80s ea81s had the extra trim piece running under the door lock and fuel tank door, so I bet it's an '83+ with a cobbled grill area. Edited September 11, 201114 yr by ferox
September 11, 201114 yr Author I havent seen it in person, but she did say that the silver side placards say "Limited Edition" rather than SUBARU. There is a Gen 1 Brat in town that has a similar hood, although the vents are a metal part of the hood rather than something attached to the hood. I would love another Brat, however, I am deployed so it will still be some time before I would be able to. If you wouldnt mind, please send me a pm with pics and price on the ones you have for sale.

You can buy those "Limited Edition" chrome stick-on plates at Autozone and most any parts house. Subaru never made a "Limited edition" Brat, plus there are just gobs of mix-matched parts all over that rig... The hood vents remind me a cold air returns for a house.
