September 15, 201114 yr My 1986 Subaru GL-10 4wd has no spark. I did an ohm test on the coil and it seems good. I have voltage at the coil when the key is on. Should i replace the ignition control module/pickup coil in the distributor? I don't know any way to test it. The tach has no reading when i crank the engine.
September 16, 201114 yr Make sure the horn works. Fuse 5 provides power to it along with the CAS in the disty. No power there will kill the ignition.
September 16, 201114 yr Author Thanks a ton. I took the distributor cap off and it did not spin when cranking the engine. Must be the timing belt.
October 29, 201114 yr I own an '86 GL with no ignition module in the distrubutor, so I would question that.
