Bushings, suspension.

Featured Replies

What happens if I replace all the rubber suspension bushings with steel or aluminum....?

A lot of racers use al. bushings in the susp. They work GREAT for handeling, but are noisie, so if U do make sure to put zerks on ALL of them;)

I have done this on a few cars, the ride is a little harsh on the street, but livable if U are looking for all out handeling.

Try delrin, can't go wrong with self lubrication!!!:D :D :D

I used it to make shifter bushings and it is wonderful stuff! pretty hard but not rock solid.

Whats Derlin and Zerks?

I dont care how harsh the street ride is. ive rode in some pretty stiff cars, and I loved every bump.

Zirks are grease nipples for injecting grease into stuff.

Funny story about zirks - There was a loser mechanic at one place I worked at. Everyone hated him. He decided to quit and take a job at a competitor, so the mechanics got back at him. They installed zirks on his toolboxes, and FILLED them with grease. We had an air-powered grease gun (heavy-duty truck shop), so it only took a few minutes for each cabinet.

Anyways, that's what zirks are.
