December 6, 201114 yr I tried several different synthetic non-petroleum based caliper greases for the sliders and they've all let me down. Finally found this at Subaruparts.com for $12.60 + S&H. It comes in a 100g (~3.5 oz.) tube. Edited December 6, 201114 yr by hohieu Added Photo
December 6, 201114 yr Score! I had gotten some little packets of it in with the genuine caliper rebuild kits, but hadn't seen it available separately. Thanks for the info.
December 7, 201114 yr Rubber Grease? It is the very First time I read that written, but I'm sure I've seen it before, just not named as "Rubber" Grease. Kind Regards.
December 7, 201114 yr Rubber grease! I think something is lost in the translation....... It may be made by a joint venture between Matsumura Fishworks and Tamaribuchi Heavy Manufacturing Concern.
December 8, 201114 yr Author Loyale, I'm guessing you thought you were on the wrong forum, huh? Agreed, it's a pretty literal translation for the product. I should also say that all the other stuff I've tried has swelled the brake rubber and hardened over time. I'm sure there's an aftermarket equivalent out there somewhere, but since Akebono's caliper design is the only one I know of that uses the rubber bushing at the tip of the lock pin, I'd been looking for this JDM/OEM grease for a while. December 8, 201114 yr Rubber grease! I think something is lost in the translation....... It may be made by a joint venture between Matsumura Fishworks and Tamaribuchi Heavy Manufacturing Concern. It is very disrespectful to friction, and will banish it to the land of Wind and Ghosts!
December 8, 201114 yr Loyale, I'm guessing you thought you were on the wrong forum, huh? ... No, I found that Translation to be very Funny... ...it remembers me the "Cariper" I Found: But I didn't wanted to make fun or be rude about it... sometimes I'm Lost in translation too... :-p Kind Regards.
