April 6, 201213 yr I have no clue what happened... it was fine before tuesday. It has the brake fluid light on (its full) and the stop lamp light. and the e brake light never goes off, it just dimms when you disengage it (the switch works fine) And now the alternator is not charging? help cant afford to drve the chevy 350 every where
April 6, 201213 yr You need a new alternator. GD I Agree. The same thing happens if you start engine without the alt. belt or it fell off as in my bad experience.
May 5, 201213 yr This kind of thing happens because the warning lights are in the field circuit of the alternator which allows the lights to be tested before the engine is running. When the alternator has a problem it usually effects the warning lights also.
