I apologize in advance for what's probably a repeat post... Will 02 wrx struts work in a 90 sedan? Any modifications need to be made? I've searched a ton but can't seem to find a straightforward answer. Thanks in advance.

Just need to use the tophats from your stock struts.

Would you guys go with those struts (40,000 miles on them) or buy new kyb's? I'd be able to get the wrx struts for about $200.

You can buy a whole set of new struts through partstrain for about $270 shipped.

what are you doing for springs?

 

I have my stock pull-offs from my 06 WRX wagon. dunno if they would work/fit for you. they have less than 1900 miles on them.

The wrx struts would have springs already attached.

 

Looks like $380 for those parts from partstrain. The rears are about 2x as much as the fronts (AWD).

If they come from a junker - I'm sure they could.

 

New struts aren't usually quoted that way - I guess someone might sell them w/springs.

Legacy? Go check out Legacy Central. there is a 'sticky' under the Suspension category.

 

But the fronts will work 'as is'. The rears will need top hats @ least as the '90-91 had different bolt patterns...but the springs may be tapered and not fit your Legacy top hats.

 

You'll likely have the 'saggy butt' issue on the rear, too.

you need to use your top hats on those rears and drop a paper tube down over the bolt and fill the rest of the top hat space inside with polyurethane construction adhesive or they will knock like bejessus. the wrx struts and springs will lower your car about 1-1 1/2"
