looks like this engine is shot. can anybody tell me how much to replace it ? 1986 gl wagon

try at your local junkyard , here in ohio there about 150 bucks used , but different parts of the county have different prices , manual or a/t

You can spend as much as you want on an engine. Probably the way to go is find a wrecked car in a yard, reseal that engine, and drop it in. You know that the engine had to run well enough to get it into that wreck.

I think CCR sells rebuilt ea82s for around $1700, correct me if I'm wrong on the price but I think it was somewhere around there. I also saw a new shortblock with heads at a subaru dealer for like $1800.

I got a 92 loyale parts car for $200, including the engine. had to drive far to get it however.

used engines with good mileage may run you anywhere up to 600 if you don't shop around.

ebay?

1st of all, Where the heck are you located? 2nd, If you are close, I have a carbed EA82 sitting in my driveway that runs I will give you a better deal than the JY. I am in NJ, where are you? PM me if you are close/interested. Sometimes I forget to go back and check the threads. Boz
