Hello, XT coupe owner

Featured Replies

Hey all! Been coming across this message forum for years now and have gotten some good advice looking through your threads. I guess you can call me a Subaru for life person. Grew up in Truckee, CA. And my 2nd car was an 81 GL wagon, and then an 82 GL. Drove and beat them to death, and learned how to work on them too! They were the best cars in the snow. Bought an 87 XT coupe a few years later, and loved it up until I blew the engine and the mechanic that put the new one in screwed it all up. Now that I am grown up, about 4 years ago I decided to purchase another and was amazed how hard they are to find, and in decent condition. I found one on the internet in Seattle, WA. And flew my 4 year old son, at the time, and drove it back cross country for 2 weeks to Chattanooga, TN. The memories and the car are priceless to me. Went to the Golden gate bridge, saw all my old friends in Ca, Nv, Co, the Grand Canyon, Hover Dam... Great trip in a great car. Well, its been broken for the past year and have been dumping tons of money into it. So you will see me around trying to find parts and meeting you all! I also have an 86 XT Turbo coupe, looking for another to make one. Talk at ya laterZ.

welcome.

we can help you get your car running cheap and any part you need is easy to find. more info in my reply on your other thread:

they are few and far between but you can generally find XT's and XT6's on craigslists, Subaru forums, ebay, etc. North/east of you everything that age has rusted away, south of you is not Subaru country so you would see a lack of Subaru's down there.

Your right, the South is not Subaru country. That is what makes me a little unique driving the only XT6 I know of in Chattanooga, TN. You see Outbacks and Forrester's but no old school Subarus here. I have had so many comments on my car, people taking pictures and have been pulled over three times, supposedly for my tint. I just think they wanted to look at the car. People freak out here if it snows a half inch let alone 6 inches when I am blowing passed them in my Subaru laughing.

Thanks!

I have located a few XT's in Florida. Most of them are up in Washington area though. There are a few around here in Junkyards. I picked up my 86 XT off Ebay for $700, the guy told me it had been sitting for 10 years when I got it and it has been sitting for another 4. Definitely shows, the interior is shot, air suspension bags are suppose to be bad. Will post pictures once I figure out how of both my cars.

Welcome!

Worked on the XT6 today and said heck with it and drove it to the gas station to give it a drink. Bought it 2 shots of 93 octane pure gasoline. Then straight to the car wash for a much needed shower. Now back in the driveway until I can get it running better.

It was so nice just to drive it again.:headbang:

Post pic of your car and trip in the Members Rides sub forum.

And welcome to the USMB.

What is the easiest way to post photos here? Have all my photos on facebook and photobucket. The only internet I have right now is my phone. It would be easy if I could just post them from my phone.

If you have a smartphone, use the photobucket app to post photo links.
