January 28, 201313 yr I have it on pretty good authority that EMPI is not going to be selling axles anymore.
January 28, 201313 yr Darn they are the only other axels other than napa remans that are locally available around here.
January 28, 201313 yr Author I know! They shut down their factory in China so when remaining inventory is gone..... Was ordering a few CV heads and main shafts from them to replace broken core inventory parts and can't get anything anymore. Frustrating. Working on better ordering and shipping solutions for the FW axles here. I am spoiled having them in the corner of my shop but a couple weeks ago he went to have surgery and I had to order a CV shaft from my supplier who was using EMPI for their parts and was pretty frustrated to have the news confirmed by a 2nd source.
January 28, 201313 yr Is MWE still making them? I believe that I read somewhere that MWE is now FW. Im Not %100 positive though.
January 28, 201313 yr I believe that I read somewhere that MWE is now FW. Im Not %100 positive though. The name was changed like last year I think. Confused me a few times as well.
January 28, 201313 yr Author Yeah the change is a little confusing. Marshall is still building axles but combined his efforts with his daughters company to be one.
January 29, 201313 yr I found this about USA industries buying empi http://www.aftermarketnews.com/Item/109452/usa_industries_buys_empi_cv_new_axle_drive_line_business.aspx I don't know the credibility of the source but it sounds like they are going to continue selling empi but under a different brand name
January 29, 201313 yr dang, seemed like good stuff to me (I got 2 of them) and some people I respect on this and another forum liked them too. maybe Raxles will be the next source??? edit; just read the link. Seems weird, like a spinoff of the new axle biz to USA Industries - but, will the axles come from the same ISO-9002 factory? Just thru a new company? Edited January 29, 201313 yr by 1 Lucky Texan
January 29, 201313 yr That's exactly what I was wondering and is the quality going to be the same. I guess the only way to know is to try them I guess
