March 8, 201313 yr I bought this well over a year or two ago and decided to do a major swap#hybrid. The body and paint was done by me (learning project) Lol All in all the car is one of the funniest out of the fleet to drive and definitely grown soft for the gen 1's. March 8, 201313 yr Hi: In Australia we call these a brumby (which is a wild horse) These Gen 1's are seldom seen these days and the Gen 2 is highly prized and even high mileage examples bring big $. Worst thing Subaru ever did was to take them off the market
March 8, 201313 yr Author Thanks for the replies. The gen 1 are getting harder and harder to find with out spending an arm and a leg repairing them. They are one of my favorites, plus anyone can own a wrx, sti etc. Edited March 8, 201313 yr by SubiBratz
March 13, 201313 yr K, so I see Forester 5x100 Steelies but nothing more explaining th e"hybrid" swap. I am assuming a Legacy swap of some sort? Do you have any more info and or a build thread?

April 3, 201312 yr Author Pulled her out of the garage today and drove here to the store.. When I came out there where people standing by her, I remember those days.. Lol I probably will too...
April 3, 201312 yr Ah yes, I remember now. Can't believe I didn't correlate them together, lol. I called shenanigans on the speed of the build, lol. That was cause I wanted more info and pics. Well done indeed. Edited April 3, 201312 yr by O.C.D.
April 3, 201312 yr Author Yes I remember you saying something about the build. Well I took over a year but look at the beautiful beast now.. Lol
April 3, 201312 yr Author I think I want to lower it a bit, sits a little to high for me. Has any lowered a brat?
October 22, 201312 yr Author Anyone interested in buying my beast. Looking to get ????? Make me an offer. Ej swap done, legacy 5 speed etc. Body paint done recently, cleanest you will find.
October 27, 201312 yr This car is really nice! Ive seen it afew time in person.Last time I saw it the rims were painted red. I get excited every time I see the 5 lugs. I want it!
November 8, 201312 yr Author Thanks. Yes I painted the wheels red, what a difference if you put some color on the factory Forester wheels lol. What part of spokane you live in. By chance you drive a gen 2 brat?
November 14, 201312 yr She's a beaut! Did you paint that BLUE on the SUBARU badging on the rear? I'd like to paint mine, just wondering how you did it (assuming you did), what kind of paint and the exact color... so just about everything LOL.
November 14, 201312 yr Scott on my friends we are going to try and use model paint for the blue and do it by hand with a brush.
November 14, 201312 yr You know me Kevin, I like to keep it looking like it was when it hit the shore from Japan! I might have to buy an extra one to test the quality, my workmanship and the color. Mine has remnants of blue, but it looks a little more "royal" than this one. I'm not sure if it was already painted or repainted or what. Who knows more about this little tidbit of information?
November 22, 201312 yr Author For the blue Subaru badge. I used a can of Dupli Color spray can and sprayed it in a cup. Then used a paint brush. Turned out great. I'll let you know the color.
January 9, 201412 yr Author I wish winter here in Spokane would hit already. I see snow everywhere on the east coast but were is all the west coast love at? I want to see what this Franken Brat can do!!
