October 24, 201312 yr Author Looks good. How was it for road manners? I'm guessing a front tube bumper is in the plans. goes great down the road, those front rims keep the tires close in ,near stock specs heres a few photos from Facebook Edited October 24, 201312 yr by Scott in Bellingham
October 25, 201312 yr Nice pics, a little Subie-Yota dos-e-doe. I think you need a retractable wheelie bar or a pre-runner style rear bumper now so you don't do back-flips. That's quite the Washington crew you guys have got going on. Looks like a good time.
October 25, 201312 yr You guys would be wetting your pants with the EJ dual range gearbox I reckon! That thing's not my cup of tea, but it's pretty awesome to see in pics! What's next in the mods?CheersBennie
October 25, 201312 yr I like the personality of this car as it starts to gain more and more mods. that bumper is ready for some serious brush! Super sweet 2 winches!

What's next in the mods? Cheers Bennie I have a 86 3.9 dualrange in this beast, Whats next, Skidplate up front , A arm extra pivot bushings and bracing, finish up the rear, exocage with built in roof rack, onboard air, CB and Ham radios, roof lights, ETC,
October 25, 201312 yr That bumper should help keep the front "grounded to the ground" on those hill climbs. That bumpers is even bigger than the one on my Legacy.
October 31, 201312 yr You subie nuts in Washington make me regret moving to Colorado. I wish I had the same support network the subie family has in Washington!

Cheers Bennie Not so much. the AWD center section is not good for wheeling.Austin has a EJ DR, and it was ok until a tire or two came off the ground.
November 5, 201312 yr Author painted the bumper gloss black, it was so moist out it looks more like satin black, been looking for some rear tires cant find any decent 33s used so looks like 2 new ones are in order
November 12, 201312 yr Author well I took a few weeks off the car, time to get back on it figurin out the front A-arm braces and 3rd pivot
November 13, 201312 yr Author heres why Im bracin these up I cut some pivots off some bent A-arms I cut the Swaybar mount off the crossmember it was in the way, Ill bench make all the parts and weld them up on the parts already on the car, Edited November 13, 201312 yr by Scott in Bellingham
November 13, 201312 yr Might want to mount a steering rack in that crossmember to make sure tie rodends won't hit under compression. There's a reason the swaybar has those curves in it where it went over the tierods.....right were your brace is going to go.

November 14, 201312 yr It looks like a pretty up grade ... I've got a few bent up a arms that's deff a week spot
November 14, 201312 yr Your still only limited by the weakest point in the chain.Beef something up and it moves the failures to something more expensive. The control arm might not bend but the body might, or...On the other hand it could add enough strength that it completely solves bending altogether.waiting to see how this plays out.
November 14, 201312 yr Author after I fiure this out Ill offer 2 kits one similar to what you see and another that braces up the stock arm , both weld on of exchange
November 14, 201312 yr Interested in see how these turn out. Let me know if you need someone to test them. November 14, 201312 yr heres why Im bracin these up What your doing looks great........but I have to wonder.......since they always bend in this particular spot.....I think the hole is there to make a crumple point for crashes. Might it not be easier to plate this area over the hole, and around the tube to reinforce it? What your doing will work too. Just purely a thought on why they always bend in that same place.
November 22, 201312 yr Not so much. the AWD center section is not good for wheeling.Austin has a EJ DR, and it was ok until a tire or two came off the ground. It can be if utilized properly. LIKe in conjunction with an LSD. Or welded. Or spooled. Very common practice in the Subaru drift world.
