Seattle Area Shops or Mechanics?

Featured Replies

I need a Seattle area shop or mechanic to put an custom intake and Weber on a JDM dual-carb block, swap it into my '83 wagon and get it running well. I was going to do it myself, but then I got a new job that involves working more hours. Any recommendations?

For something like that I recommend Brian's Subaru in Burien. He's been in the biz for 20+ yrs and knows his stuff.

I offer my services but I am behind on the stuff I have to do right now and it could take a while to get to.

hey when you go in, look for a mica red wagon with a CB antenna, big ugly crome exhaust tip, and a raised hood, thats my wagon, if you go in today.

You can also try Valley Subaru Service in Auburn, off Auburn way. The guy Chuck there is a real down to earth kinda guy.... no bullsheviks just tells ya what is actually wrong and wether or not you should worry about it. His answer for my check engine light was either a 200+ dollar sensor or a chunk of electrical tape... my choice.

Thats what I wanna hear from a mechanic.

Honesty and knowledge are two different things. Just because the guy at the Dealership will level with you about an O2 sensor doesn't mean he knows jack about putting dual carbs on an ea81. Betting he's never seen the set-up.

Brian is your answer. He IS the Guru. Ask him. :)

Well, between work and putting new injectors in my VW TDI I've been too busy to get to this project. Anyone have contact info. for Brian's Subaru in Burien? I tried Yahoo's yellow pages, but no luck.

Are you still behind Qman? If not, are you interested?

John (Mudrat79) has offered to do it, but I'm reluctant to part with the car long enough to send it down to Portland, have the job done, and get it back...

Oh, I almost forgot. Did you ever get that winch switch up to Zapar? I've been driving around with an empty winch box.

ditto on that Brian 's is the best in south seattle .... ive spent some serious time there.........Brians phone nos is 206 242 0835....ask for steve or brian...

Thanks Sparkster054. I called Brian's and spoke with Steve. He thought Brian would be into my project. I'll call them back when I am ready to throw my JDM long block, aftermarket intake and other goodies in the back of the wagon and drive down there with some cash.

I called them today for a price quote on my 98 2.2l OBS to get the timing belt done, water pump, oil pump seals, and all the seals done. they said about $750. is this reasonable? I was considering doing it myself, but since all the seals, and timing belt are so important, I kind of wanted a good shop to do it so that it doesnt get done wrong!
