Fitting 235/70r16 tires on a lifted 99 legacy

Featured Replies

I figure if you can fit 205/75r15 tires on a lifted leggy you should be able to do 235/70r16, right? only a inch and a half inch larger width, so .75 inches on each side. Just wondering what you guys think

How much extra wheel well space do you see available on your lifted 99 Leggie?? Will the strut be in the way?? You may want to go to a tire store with a tape measure. Get measurements on tire width and height. It is going to be tight.

Gonna be really close with those. I had 215 75 15 on a forester lifted impreza and not a lot of spare space.

Add a set of 1 inch 5x100 spacers from ebay and you'll probably clear just fine. That combo has cleared the similarly sized 235/75/15s

235/70/16 is a much taller tire because the 70 in the tire size is the aspect ratio, and its on an inch taller wheel.

235/70/16 is roughly a 29" tall tire.

205/75/15 is about a 27" tall tire.

This will vary from tire to tire due to different tread designs.
